Here's the Scoop...

If you're a fan of the 'Aliens' franchise, here's some good news!

Sigourney Weaver says the new Alien will bring character Ellen Ripley's story to a close.

The 66-year-old actress, who played Ripley in the original 1979 film and three sequels, revealed as much while discussing the new Neill Blomkamp movie with Entertainment Weekly.

"We have a great script," she said. "It's a great story and it's satisfying to me to give this woman an ending."

Blomkamp's film was delayed in favor of Alien director Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant, which opens in theaters Aug. 4, 2017. Weaver hopes to still return as Ripley but won't commit until a later date.

"Now that we're waiting for [Prometheus 2], I have a couple Avatars to do and Neill has The Gone World," the actress said. "So we'll have to see what happens when we get back, when those projects are over."

Blomkamp's Alien sequel will take place after the second movie, Aliens (1986), and disregard the events of Alien 3 (1992) and Alien: Resurrection (1997). Weaver said the film will explore the motivations of the aliens.

"The script itself has so much in it that's so original, but also really satisfies, the, I would say, primal needs of the aliens," she said. "It's a tribute to all of the great work that the other directors have done, in a way, but goes in a completely new direction."

Weaver told fans in April that Blomkamp's movie will be "worth the wait." The actress will next appear in A Monster Calls with Felicity Jones and Toby Kebbell.

Well, I'm excited! How about you?

Be Well,
Steve

Martha Stewart changing it up, trying to connect with millennials
At 74, Martha Stewart is changing it up, working to connect with a newer generation -- millennials.

Ten years later than many Americans retire, Stewart sold her once multi-billion business in December 2015, for a mere $353 million, the price of its stock less than the purchase price for a Martha Stewart oven mitt at Macy's, Luxury Listings NYC reported.

The company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., was purchased by Sequential Brands Group Inc., whose brands include Jessica Simpson and Avia. Shares of the home-decor company rose 37 percent in two days amid reports of the takeover.

Stewart is now chief creative officer at Sequential Brands Group, a significant shareholder in the company and sits on its board of directors. She is working for a CEO half her age and is often seen with controversial celebrities and artists.

"Martha Stewart connects with people of all ages -- from millennials to boomers -- you name it," said Yehuda Shmidman, 35, Sequential's CEO. "She's here to teach smart, stylish and functional solutions to help everyone live better."

"I think every business is trying to target millennials. But who are millennials? Now we are finding out

that they are living with their parents," Stewart said.

"They don't have the initiative to go out and find a little apartment and grow a tomato plant on the terrace. I understand the plight of younger people. The economic circumstances out there are very grim. But you have to work for it. You have to strive for it. You have to go after it. They need to learn not just about how to make money," she said, "but how to plant a tree and grow their own spinach."

After a brief appearance, which actor has been promoted to series regular on 'The Walking Dead'?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan -- who made a memorable appearance on the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead -- has been promoted to series regular for Season 7.

The Wrap reported that Morgan, who plays the charismatic villain Negan, and Tom Payne, who plays the main characters' resourceful ally Jesus, will both be major players when the zombie-apocalypse drama resumes in October.

Entertainment Weekly released the first image from Season 7 Wednesday. It shows a smiling Negan staring down the length of his barbed-wire covered baseball bat Lucille. Behind him can be seen several of his followers and a glimpse of the motor home Eugene [Josh McDermitt] was driving in the finale before he was captured.

Season 6 ended with Negan bludgeoning to death one of the show's most beloved characters, however who that was will not be revealed until the Season 7 premiere.
