Kim Kardashian sues website for claiming her Paris robbery was faked
Kim Kardashian filed a libel per se suit against the gossip site mediatakeout.com and its owner, Fred Mwangaguhunga, after the site claimed she lied about her Paris ordeal.
"After having been the victim of a horrific and traumatic armed robbery in France, Kim Kardashian returned to the United States only to again be victimized," said attorney Andrew Brettler in the suit, "but this time by an online gossip tabloid that published a series of articles in early October 2016 referring to her as a liar and thief."
On Oct. 2, Kardashian was bound and robbed by two armed men who entered her Paris hotel room dressed as police officers and took $11 million in jewelry.
The site wrote a series of stories which claimed Kardashian "faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars," Brettler said in court documents.
Kardashian is suing for general, special, punitive, and exemplary damages.
LOOSE LIPS:
"Love my girl!. After hearing the full story, I'm so thankful she's okay. It's a reminder for us all to be careful in the uncertainty of this world."

Which Oscar nominee will star as Janis Joplin in a new biopic?
Kevin Hart: 'The sky's the limit for me'
Kevin Hart, who was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, knows 2016 is his biggest year yet, but he doesn't feel it's his biggest ever.
"The sky's the limit for me," Hart said in an interview with Variety. "I really believe that, and at this point feel I'm basically competing with myself. By that I mean that no one can push me harder than I push myself. I set my own bar and I constantly raise that bar to be higher and higher."
Hart released four movies this year, Ride Along 2, Central Intelligence, The Secret Life of Pets, and his stand-up film, Kevin Hart: What Now? which is headed to theaters on Oct. 14.
He also signed on for the new Jumanji film, a role in the animated Captain Underpants, The Intouchables, and another season of Real Husbands of Hollywood.
"Yeah," Hart said, "I'm pretty busy."
He's hoping it will stay that way.
"Nothing happens overnight, and if a road has no bumps and rocks, you don't get a story," he said. "I feel that God put me through a lot in the beginning to prepare me for what was going to come later. And now I'm really prepared and equipped to deal with everything I want to do."

Which Oscar nominee will star as Janis Joplin in a new biopic?
Michelle Williams is set to star in Sean Durkin's upcoming Janis Joplin biopic as the 1960s rock-and-roll icon.
Durkin, who directed Martha Marcy May Marlene, has teamed up with producer Peter Newman for the film, which is based on the book Love, Janis, written by Joplin's sister, Laura.
Newman owns the rights to a large piece of Joplin's catalog and will use her music, along with the book and Joplin's written materials to create the film which will focus on the final six months of the singer's life.
Joplin died in 1970 at the age of 27 from a heroin overdose.
