Here's the Scoop....

The 33 Chilean miners who were trapped below ground for two and
a half months until their dramatic rescue last month may get
their story told on the big screen, if Brad Pitt has his way.

Brad's Plan B Entertainment Company has made a significant offer,
said to be in the millions, for the rights to the men's stories.

Edgardo Reinoso Lundstedt, a lawyer for the miners, told the
Santiago, Chile, daily, El Mercurio. The attorney said he is
receiving about 10 offers per day for the rights.

The miners would equally distribute among themselves any profits
made from a motion picture based on their ordeal.

Among Brad's other movies have been A Mighty Heart, with Angelina
Jolie; The Time Traveler's Wife, with Eric Bana; Eat Pray Love,
with Julia Roberts; and Kick-Ass.

Jessica Simpson Engaged to Eric Johnson...

Touchdown!

Jessica Simpson and free agent NFL player Eric Johnson are getting
married, a rep confirms.

The couple began dating in May, after being introduced by friends.
Ever since, they have been spotted getting cozy across the U.S.
and overseas, even celebrating her 30th birthday together in Italy.

Jessica recently said she and Eric, 31, were planning to spend
Thanksgiving together.

"We're all gonna be in New York," said the entertainer and fashion
designer. "I'm gonna be on a [Macy's parade] float. It's not always
the best way to spend a Thanksgiving, but it's a great way to
celebrate. So, maybe I'll just have all families on the float."

Explaining how well their relationship was working, Jessica said
last month, "This is just normal, thank God. He's very, very
supportive. [I] couldn't ask for a better man in my life right now."

Asked if Eric were the one, she replied: "I never go to that
because I already went there, so, I'm not gonna jinx my own self.
He's the one for me right now! I'm very happy, I'm in a great place
and if right now could last forever, I'd take it."

As for Eric, who's played for the San Francisco 49ers and the New
Orleans Saints, the 6' 3" Needham, Mass., native has excelled at
sports since he was a kid. At 13, he hit a hole in one on the golf
course, and he broke 11 school records while playing wide receiver
for Yale University. He's also a former academic All-American.

Bill Clinton Joins Cast of The Hangover 2...

First Mike Tyson and now ? Bill Clinton?

Sure enough, that will be the former president sharing screen-
time with the fun-loving guys in The Hangover 2, now filming
in Thailand.

Bill, who'll play himself in the comedy, shot his brief
appearance on Saturday in Bangkok, where part of the production
takes place. He was in the capital city to deliver a speech on
clean energy.

Fans of the first Hangover will remember Mike Tyson's memorable
performance in that movie last year, while this sequel recently
made news for the coming and going of Mel Gibson, whose cameo
role will now be filled by Liam Neeson.

Directed by Todd Philips, the sequel, like the original, also
stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin
Bartha.

Gibson Admits to Slapping ? Not Punching ? Oksana...

Mel Gibson has a different take on what happened the night Oksana
Grigorieva claims he punched her in the face while she was holding
their baby.

In a sworn declaration dated June 23, 2010, Mel, 54, recalls the
altercation at one of his Malibu, Calif., homes in January that
prompted police to launch a domestic violence investigation.

But Mel says Oksana grabbed Lucia, 1, out her ofbassinet and
eventually ran out into the backyard.

Mel says Oksana, 40, ran for nearly 75 yards across bumpy, dimly lit
ground with Lucia in her arms. When she came back into the house,
Mel claims Oksana was "hysterical" and her "rapid movements were
causing Lucia's little body to be flung from one side to the other,
her head shaking violently."

Fearing shaken baby syndrome as Oksana would not hand the baby over
and was continuing her "rough and erratic movements," Mel said he
had to act.

"I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring
her back to reality," Mel said. "I did not slap her hard. I was just
trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming, continuing
shaking Lucia back and forth."

But Oksana has maintained she was punched in the face more than
once, resulting in visible bruising. She later said of that night,
"I thought he would kill me."

Mel, however, refutes her version of events.

"I did not hit Oksana with a closed fist, as she alleges," he said.
"I did not ever punch her in the face or in the temple or anywhere
else, not then or at any other time."

Demi Lovato's Disney TV Show Gets a Readjustment...

While Demi Lovato rides the road to recovery in treatment for what
her rep called "emotional and physical issues," the star's TV
vehicle is being realigned.

The Disney Channel and producers of her 'tween series Sonny with a
Chance have decided on a temporary adjustment, allowing the
spotlight to fall on the popular show within the show, So Random!.

This switch enables the production's third season to resume in
January as scheduled and "allows [Demi] the time she needs to get
well, without distraction or pressure," a Disney Channel
spokeswoman comments. "Again, we extend our ongoing support to
Demi and her family as she works to overcome personal issues."

At the end of last month, Demi, 18, dropped out of the Jonas
Brothers tour and "decided to take personal responsibility for her
actions and seek help," her rep said. "She regrets notbeing able
to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work
in the near future."

*-*-* GUESS WHO *-*-*-

Artwork owned by this late actor has fetched over $10 million
at auction...

It's Dennis Hopper...

The pieces came under the spotlight before the Easy Rider star's
death in May (10), when he filed legal papers accusing his
estrangedwife Victoria Duffy of stealing artworks from him while
he was battling cancer.

The collection of over 40 pieces, including a portrait of Dennis
by Andy Warhol and works by Robert Graham and British graffiti
artist Banksy, went under the hammer at Christie's auction house
in New York last week.

The New York Post reports the lot fetched just over $10 million
(£6.7 million).
