Wentworth Miller says he was suicidal before he came out as gay

Actor Wentworth Miller said at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner in Seattle he tried to kill himself multiple times before publicly admitting he is gay. The former "Prison Break" star revealed his sexual identity last month in a letter posted on the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation website. TMZ said Miller talked at Saturday night's Human Rights Campaign Dinner about attempting suicide for the first time when he was 15 because he didn't know how to express who he was. He recalled swallowing a bottle of pills at home and said the action wasn't a cry for help. "You only cry for help if there is help to cry for," TMZ quoted the 41-year-old actor as saying. Miller said he hopes that by now being truthful about who he is he can be a role model for other gay actors in Hollywood. "To be the someone else that no one was to me," he said.

Simon Cowell, expectant dad, says he is 'happier than I've ever been'

British television personality Simon Cowell, whose girlfriend is pregnant with their first child, says he is "happier than I've ever been." News of Lauren Silverman's pregnancy was first reported in July. She has since settled her messy divorce from Cowell's one-time close friend, Andrew Silverman. "Oh, my God, it's exciting, and [also] this is going to be a bit of a nightmare now for the next few weeks," Cowell said of impending fatherhood in an interview to air on Tuesday's edition of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "I can't blame the media, because it was
a really juicy story. But there was a lot of stuff that was said about [Silverman] -- that she trapped me and that she's a gold digger -- and it's absolute nonsense. She's a great girl." Cowell said he's "happier than I've ever been."
