Lindsay Lohan is facing tough competition to play Hollywood legend Dame Elizabeth Taylor on TV: Megan Fox is also in the running for the role.
Fans of Taylor were surprised when the troubled "Mean Girls" star was named as one of the frontrunners to play her in the Lifetime network biopic, which will focus on Taylor's love affair with Richard Burton.
Now executive producer Larry Thompson has revealed he has also been in talks with Fox about the sought-after part!
He tells E! News, "I've been talking to Lindsay Lohan directly, and with her reps, and have been in conversations with other actresses, including Megan Fox.
"It's a very serious selection. It's like casting for Hollywood royalty."

Blake Shelton's Father Dies...
Blake Shelton's father, Dick Shelton, died Tuesday evening in Oklahoma, surrounded by his loved ones, leading his grieving country-superstar son to cancel a number of tour dates.
"I appreciate your understanding during this difficult time and thank you for all your prayers. Your support means the world to me. I love you guys," Blake, 35, wrote on his website.
Dick Shelton had been in declining health over the past year, and was hospitalized with pneumonia in early December. On Dec. 5, in accepting his first of several trophies at the 2011 American Country Awards, The Voice judge thanked his father publicly.
"I want to say hi to my dad back home... he's been having a pretty rough couple of weeks, and I know he's watching tonight," Blake said. "I love you, Dad, and I dedicate this to you, man. Thank you." Blake flew home to Oklahoma right after the ACA show to be with his family.
In the wake of his father's death, Blake is moving four concerts scheduled for this week - in Rapid City, S.D., Bismarck, N.D., and Billings and Bozeman, Mont. - to March. His tour resumes next Thursday in Columbus, Ga.
LeAnn Rimes sporting new tattoo...
Singer LeAnn Rimes is sporting a new tattoo on her foot in tribute to husband Eddie Cibrian.
The singer uploaded a picture of the ankle-to-toes inking, which contains the words "the only one that matters," on her Twitter.com page.
LeAnn, who has other pieces of body art, told fans the phrase was inspired by Cibrian.
She explains, "I'm addicted to words & sayings that mean something special to me. Eddie said to me 'You're the only one that matters so...'
"I was surprised that it was not painful at all. Maybe when you really want something it doesn't hurt as bad."

Pop star Avril Lavigne has split from Kim Kardashian's half-brother Brody Jenner, according to reports.
The reality TV star and pop punk Avril have been dating since shortly after she split from her husband, Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley at the end of 2009, but now editors at Life & Style magazine claim the stars have gone their separate ways.
According to the publication, they were divided on their views of marriage.
A source tells the magazine, "They decided to end their relationship. She wanted to settle down, but he wasn't exactly ready. They had been having problems starting in the summer with her tour because she was on the road all the time. It put a strain on their relationship."
Avril and Brody have yet to comment on the split reports.
Beyonce defends hospital security...
Beyonce has defended her decision to employ extra security guards at the hospital where she gave birth, insisting she needed added protection for the sake of her daughter.
The superstar singer and her husband, Jay-Z , welcomed their first child, daughter Blue Ivy, at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City on January 7.
However, other parents at the maternity unit claimed their bodyguards caused problems by refusing access to other patients and their families.
Beyonce has now spoken about the drama for the first time, insisting she was just trying to make sure her baby was kept safe.
According to reports, she says, "Everybody who we wanted to see her, saw her. Security was very tight, but not just for the sake of it, it was for the security of our daughter."
The R&B star goes on to insist her new baby will have a normal childhood, despite being born into such a famous family.
She adds, "At home, she'll be part of a normal, loving family with a loving mom, a loving dad, a loving aunt and loving grandparents, just like any other kid."

It's Madonna...
The Material Girl admits she lacks culinary skills and even her teenage daughter, Lourdes, is a better chef than she is.
In an interview with ABC network, Madonna is asked whether she has ever cooked by herself and she replies, "I don't think I've ever cooked a meal entirely by myself... I have a cook, my daughter likes to cook. My nannies cook, my housekeeper cooks, the drivers cook, everybody cooks."
When asked if she can cook anything at all, Madonna adds, "No! But I do everything else! Do I have to do everything?"
