Here's the Scoop....

Singer Avril Lavigne has hit back at critics who accused her of
mocking contestants on "American Idol," blaming poor editing for
the controversy.

The "Sk8er Boi" hitmaker appeared as a guest judge on Simon's
hit TV singing contest in 2009, but was later criticized for
appearing to spend most of the show stifling her giggles at the
poor standard of contestants.

She has now spoken out about the negative remarks, claiming
viewers were only shown "that side of me" and insisting she'd
love to go back on the program.

Avril claims, "I was actually really impressed by a lot of the
singers and I gave a lot of positive feedback and was very
encouraging. But the stuff that actually aired was mostly me
making faces and laughing, so viewers only saw that side of me.
(But) I hope I can go back on. I had a lot of fun."

Charlie Sheen fired from sitcom...

Charlie Sheen has been fired from hit sitcom "Two and a Half
Men."

The embattled star has been at war with show producers since
falling out with writer/creator Chuck Lorre publicly in January.

Last week he launched a media blitz using radio, TV and Internet
news outlets to spew out his bitter feelings towards his bosses,
who canceled the remaining episodes of the eighth season of "Two
and a Half Men" after Charlie launched a hate-fueled radio rant
aimed at Lorre in late February.

The decision to fire him comes just over a month after the show
was suspended to allow Charlie time to recover from a series of
wild antics in rehab.

But Warner Bros. bosses have decided enough was enough after he
publicly demanded $3 million to return to the show during a TV
news interview last week, while continuing to blast them for
holding up production on the show.

In a statement released on Monday, Warner Bros. executives say,
"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has
terminated Charlie Sheen's services on 'Two and a Half Men,'
effective immediately."

Charlie insists he is overjoyed by the news of his firing.

In a bizarre message to TMZ.com, he says, "This is very good
news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is
a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge (his nickname
for his home) because now I can take all of the bazillions,
never have to look at whatshisc**k again and I never have to put
on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the
terrestrial dimension."

Last week fans of the sitcom called for TV bosses to fire him
and replace him on the show with former "E.R." star John Stamos.

Mike DeStefano Dies...

Comedian Mike DeStefano, who was a finalist on Last Comic
Standing, died of a massive heart attack Sunday night at age 44.

"I am deeply saddened to hear about Mike. He was not only an
outstanding comic but more importantly a wonderfully warm human
being who deeply cared about people," Last Comic Standing
executive producer Peter Engel said in a statement Monday. "We
will all laugh a bit less because of losing Mike."

Mike, who was set to perform his one-man show A Cherry Tree in
the Bronx on Wednesday, had just finished a string of sold-out
shows called Drugs, Disease and Death: A Comedy. His life
experiences, heroin addiction, and the loss of his wife, were
said to be the influence behind the acts. He had been clean for
11 years at the time of his death and was HIV positive

Gaga threatens legal action over breast milk ice cream...

Lady Gaga has threatened to sue the owners of an ice cream
parlor in London for producing a flavor made from human breast
milk, titled Baby Gaga.

Attorneys representing Gaga have sent a legal letter to bosses
at Icecreamists in the U.K. capital's Covent Garden warning
them to change the name of the bizarre concoction.

In the document, Gaga's lawyers accuse store owner Matt O'Connor
of riding on Gaga's "coattails" to promote a product which is
"deliberately provocative and, to many people, nausea-inducing."
The letter adds, "The references you are making to Lady Gaga are
thus clearly deliberate and intended to take advantage of her
reputation and good will... Associating the Lady Gaga mark with
a food product which may be unsafe for human consumption (owing
to the risk of it carrying such viruses as hepatitis) is also
highly detrimental."

However, O'Connor insists he has been unfairly targeted, calling
the legal threat "preposterous and outrageous".

He comments, "We think this is very unnecessary, the whole thing
will be over by next week, but we are prepared to fight this in
court... This is a David versus Goliath battle I'm convinced we
will eventually win. The world's biggest superstar has taken
umbrage with the world's smallest ice-cream parlor. For Lady
Gaga to accuse us of stealing her image is laughable when you
consider how much she has borrowed from popular culture to
create her look and music. She also seems to have forgotten that
since the dawn of time the word gaga has been one of the first
discernible phrases to come from a baby's mouth. This is why we
chose the name.

"As for her assertion that our product is distasteful, perhaps
she should reflect on her blood-spurting performance at the MTV
Video Music Awards, or the fact she wears clothes fabricated
from the flesh of dead animals. We have applied to register the
trademark Baby Gaga and are confident we'll secure this."

Lovato speaks out about rehab treatment...

Demi Lovato has broken her silence about the personal problems
which forced her to seek treatment in rehab, calling the last
few months the "darkest time" of her life and revealing she
"wouldn't be here today" without the support of her fans.

Demi shocked the showbiz world by quitting her tour with the
Jonas Brothers back in October and checking into a treatment
center to address "emotional and physical issues."

It subsequently emerged that one of her backing dancers, Alex
Welch, had accused the star of lashing out at her in an
altercation on a plane. A legal dispute with Alex was settled
in December.

Demi left rehab in January but was spotted seeking further
counseling by attending a meeting at the New Journey Eating
Disorder Center in California.

She has not spoken publicly for the last few months, but she's
now reached out to fans to address her demons.

In a video message posted on her Facebook.com page, she says,
"I wanted to let you know that I am back and home... I wouldn't
be here today if it wasn't for the support you guys have given
me along the way... Your support is what got me through this...

"The journey that I've been on has been very difficult over the
past few months. I was dealing with issues that I know not only
girls just my age but of all ages are dealing with.

"I can't tell you how much light you guys brought into my life
in probably the darkest time of my life. Without you guys, I
wouldn't be here today."

LOOSE LIPS: "GaGa is Stefani Germanotta. I don't create any
separation between my birth name and my subsequent birth name
Lady Gaga. For myself, it is my reality. I exist at all times
halfway between reality and fantasy. That's the way I was
born." - Lady GaGa tells Billboard.

It's Cyndi Lauper...

The 1980s pop star grabbed a microphone at Jorge Newbery Airport
in Buenos Aires to belt out her hit "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"
for passengers frustrated by delays.

And Cyndi's impromptu performance worked.

Footage of the incident shows the star surrounded by happy fans,
singing along and snapping photos of their idol.
