'Watchful' dad Carlos Leon strict with Madonna's daughter Lourdes

Madonna's 16-year-old daughter Lourdes, a New York high school student, is complaining to her mom that her dad, Carlos Leon, is too strict, RadarOnline said. Madonna and Leon had a brief romance in the 1990s and have both been actively raising Lourdes, their only child. The teen has been dating "Homeland" actor and her LaGuardia High School of Music & Art & Performing Arts classmate Timothee Chalamet for months. "You would think Madonna was the stricter parent, but she's actually loosened the reigns because she trusts Lourdes so much," a source close to Leon told RadarOnline. "On the other hand, Carlos is the watchful dad who's laid down some very stern ground rules for his precious daughter. Madonna was the villain because she was very firm when it came to school studies and manners early on, but that's changed as Lourdes has matured. "Now she secretly gets a kick out of it when Lourdes complains to her about the curfew her dad's imposed and all the embarrassing questions he asks her and Timothee. For a change Madonna is not the mean parent!" Madonna, 54, also has a son Rocco, 13, from her former marriage to filmmaker Guy Richie, as well as two adopted children -- David 8, and Mercy, 7.

Stevie Nicks says Reese Witherspoon is 'almost' too old to
play her

Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks says she once thought Reese Witherspoon would be perfect to play her, but, at 37, the U.S. actress has aged out of the role. Nicks, 64, talked about the casting for a possible future bio-picture in her new documentary, "In Your Dreams," which followed her as she made her 2011 album of the same name. "I've already told [Reese] she's almost too old," Nicks told "ET Canada" at the documentary's Toronto premiere this week. "I love her, but she's like, 'I could play your mother.' I'm like 'O.K,'" Nicks said of Witherspoon. Witherspoon won an Oscar, Golden Globe and SAG Award for her portrayal of singer June Carter, Johnny Cash's wife, in the 2005 drama "Walk the Line."

Selena Gomez wears bindi on 'Dancing with the Stars' amid criticism

Pop star Selena Gomez wore a bindi on her forehead on "Dancing with the Stars" in Los Angeles amid criticism she was misusing the Hindu symbol. Officials at the Universal Society of Hinduism demanded an apology from the 20-year-old recording artist after she wore a bindi while performing her Bollywood-style song "Come & Get It" on Sunday's MTV Movie Awards. Gomez has not publicly commented on the controversy and wore the object again when she sang the song on Tuesday's edition of "Dancing with the Stars."

Jane Lynch says future of her 'Glee' character is unclear

Jane Lynch says she doesn't know if she will be back on "Glee" next season since her character was fired from the Ohio school where she coaches cheerleaders. Lynch's Sue Sylvester was fired from McKinley High after she lied and said a gun that accidentally went off in the school was hers. She was trying to protect a student with Down syndrome who brought the firearm with her to school because she didn't feel safe. Asked about her future on the Fox musical dramedy series, Lynch told Hollyscoop: "[On the show] I have been fired. I haven't been written back in yet. I am in the show, but [my character] is teaching aerobics at 23 Hour Fitness. So, that is where Sue Sylvester is right now. So, we'll see what happens." Pressed to say if she is coming back next season, the actress replied: "I think I will. Well, we will see. I don't know that." Lynch will soon make her Broadway debut as Miss Hannigan in the stage musical "Annie."
