Eagles, Reid agree to 3-year contract extension
Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid will be with the team
through 2013 after signing a three-year contact extension.
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie announced the extension Wednesday
and the team scheduled a news conference for 11:30 a.m. EST.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Reid is the winningest
coach in team history, leading the Eagles to the playoffs
five times and one Super Bowl in 10 seasons. Since joining
the team in 1999, Reid has won 115 games and compiled a .611
winning percentage, both best in Eagles history. Reid took
over a team that was 3-13 a season earlier and drafted
quarterback Donovan McNabb in the first round of the 1999
draft. The Eagles improved to 5-11 in their first season
under Reid then went 11-5 a year later and made the playoffs.
Despite his success, Reid has drawn criticism from fans for
the team's failure to win a Super Bowl. The closest the Eagles
got was a 24-21 loss to the New England Patriots following
the 2004 season. The Eagles have reached the NFC championship
game four other times, including three straight losses before
their Super Bowl appearance. The Eagles also reached the NFC
title game last season, losing to 32-25 to the Arizona Cardinals.
Reid took a leave of absence during the offseason in 2007 after
two of his sons were arrested on drug charges. One son is out
of prison after completing a drug treatment program and the
other is serving a two-year sentence after pleading guilty
to smuggling prescription pills into a county jail.

Screaming Biker Monkey
Cute... Cuddly... Loud...
List Price: $14.99
DEAL PRICE: $3.99
By now we've probably all seen the flying screaming monkeys. I
have bought two for my cats. My big cat (my friend calls him Jabba
The Cat) loves it. While my little one is petrified of it. Anway,
this too is a screaming monkey, but with three differences:
1. This is larger a full 14" long.
2. This doesn't fly, but can attach to almost anything
3. The Price... It's less than a third of the price.
But what I think is the cutest is the biker outfit this monkey
wears. Complete with a West Coast Chopper like logo on the back
of cool looking jacket. And the words on the front of Born To
Ride make this a unique gift for the cycle-riding fan.
A full 14" in length, don't get this confused with smaller
screaming monkeys that sell at triple the price!
This bandana-wearing, plush monkey has velcro on its hands and
feet to allow you to attach this to virtually anything. The best
thing? No batteries are needed.

Smith out for Season
Tampa Bay kick returner Clifton Smith will miss the rest of
the season after his second concussion in less than two months.
The second-year pro was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, two
days after he was hurt making a tackle on the opening kickoff
of Sunday's 16-6 loss at Carolina. His first concussion happened
during an Oct. 18 game against the Panthers, when he was hit
trying to make a fair catch on a punt. Smith was a Pro Bowl
kick returner as a rookie. He's second in the NFL in kickoff
return average (29.1 yards) and 10th in punt return average
(10.1) this season. The Bucs promoted running back Kareem
Huggins from the practice squad to fill the roster opening.
The move was announced on the team's day off. On Monday, coach
Raheem Morris was asked if the Bucs would take a cautious
approach with Smith's second concussion. "That's a no-brainer...
I don't want to speak out of turn but I'm sure there will
be with what's going on with concussions and our society
as far as the NFL," Morris said.

Slaton done for the season with shoulder injury
The Houston Texans will place second-year running back Steve
Slaton on injured reserve today with a shoulder injury,
reports NFL.com?s Steve Wyche. Slaton, the team?s leading
rusher and second-leading receiver, missed the Texans? Week
13 loss at Jacksonville after experiencing numbness in the
tip of his right thumb. According to the team?s website,
Slaton said last Friday that he did not think his injury
was too serious. He visited a Dallas-area specialist on
Tuesday to get evaluated. Chris Brown and Ryan Moats have
seen the bulk of the action when Slaton is not in the lineup.
Saints Sign CB Marcus McCauley
New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager
Mickey Loomis announced Tuesday that the club has signed free
agent cornerback Marcus McCauley and waived cornerback Chris
McAlister. The club also placed linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar on
injured reserve. McCauley is a third-year player who originally
entered the NFL as a third-round draft pick of the Minnesota
Vikings (72nd overall) in 2007. The 6-1, 203-pound Fresno
State product has played in 27 career regular-season games ?
all but one of them with the Vikings ? with 10 starts, and has
tallied 66 tackles, 10 passes defensed and five tackles on
special teams. The 26-year old Rancho Cordova, Calif. native
has also played in one career postseason game, making one
tackle on special teams. He was waived by the Vikings at the
conclusion of the 2009 preseason and has subsequently had
stints with the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
playing in one game for Detroit. McAlister was signed by
the Saints as a free agent November 18 and played in two
games with the club, making four tackles with a forced fumble
that he also recovered. The 11-year veteran defender spent his
previous 10 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Dunbar is a
second-year player who has played in nine games this season
with three starts, making 16 tackles on defense and adding
12 more stops on special teams. He suffered hamstring injury
in the Saints? victory at Washington Sunday that will end his
2009 season.

Cowboys? Adams fined $50k for late hit on Tuck
Dallas Cowboys tackle Flozell Adams was fined $50,000 for his
hit on Justin Tuck during Sunday?s loss to the New York Giants,
according to a league source. The fine, very significant for
any player with an on-field conduct issue, came after Adams
was repeatedly hit with other fines for illegal infractions.
Adams has a history with Tuck and had already amassed $25,000
in fines this season, leading to serious discussions by league
officials about suspending him. Should he step out of line
again this season a suspension for the longtime starter is
likely.
