Jameson arrested and cited for battery
Former adult film star Jenna Jameson was arrested and cited for battery after she allegedly attacked someone in Newport Beach, Calif., police said. Jameson, 38, was arrested Saturday night after the alleged altercation in the Balboa Peninsula neighborhood of Newport Beach, TMZ reported. She was cited for battery and released from police custody. TMZ did not report the details of who accused her of assaulting them or what supposedly sparked the conflict. Jameson, a media personality and occasional mainstream actress, also made headlines when she was arrested for driving under th einfluence last year after she crashed her car into a light post.
McCarthy falls in very high heels
Melissa McCarthy joked about lying to the "Saturday Night Live" staff about how well she could walk in very high heels in an appearance on the New York show. McCarthy, 42, looked pensive as she inched down a short staircase to the SNL stage in a pair of high sparkly red platforms Saturday.
The actress ended up falling on the floor as a stool she used for balance slid away. She then performed a song and dance number with Taran Killam on her knees, UsMagazine.com said. "They told me, 'Make sure you practice in your shoes.' I said: 'What? I live in heels!' But I don't do that. That was not honest. I'm primarily in a Croc. I just really wanted to get all gussied up for you guys," McCarthy said. "Wow, I can't feel anything from my arch to my toes. You could just bite that half off."

Roger Ebert's funeral open to the public
Hundreds of people were expected at a funeral mass for film critic Roger Ebert at Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral. The service Monday was open to the public, the Chicago Tribune reported. A memorial service is planned for Thursday. Ebert, 70, was a Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic who began writing for the Chicago Sun-Times in 1967. He later gained national celebrity status as the host of movie review TV programs such as "Coming Soon to a Theater Near You," "Sneak Previews," "At the Movies," "Siskel & Ebert & The Movies" and "Ebert & Roeper." It was during his television career that he began the trademark thumbs-up or thumbs-down signs used recommend or disapprove of thousands of movies. Ebert slowed down during a battle with thyroid cancer, which began in 2002. Although he had been unable to speak or eat solid foods for the past several years, due to complications from the disease and reconstructive surgeries, he kept writing until shortly before his death last week.
