Hoax that claims Ryan Gosling adopted a baby receives almost 1M likes on Facebook

Unknown persons cashed in on Ryan Gosling's good-guy appeal over the weekend. A fake Facebook for the 33-year-old actor popped up before Father's Day on June 15. The page has since been removed, but it included a photo of Gosling holding a baby and claimed the star had adopted a child. "This father's day, I've decided to tell the story of how I became a father," the post read. "This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I'd always look after him." The post received over 900,000 likes from the actor's adoring fans. More sinisterly, it encouraged people to visit a different website and purchase a "Young Wild and Free" t-shirt for $22.50. The site says the proceeds benefit the Orphanage Home Foundation, but no such organization exists. In addition, the con claims that those who buy a shirt are entered into a contest to spend a day with Gosling.


Malia Obama spotted working on the set of Halle Berry's 'Extant'

Malia Obama, who will turn 16 on the Fourth of July, has had a landmark year -- she visited China with her mom and sister, started learning to drive and recently attended her first prom. So it's about time she got a taste of the working world. The Wrap reported Monday that the First Family's eldest daughter was spotted working as a production assistant on the Los Angeles set of Extant, the Halle Berry series set to premiere on CBS next month. A source told the site that Malia "helped with computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take." Steven Spielberg, who has donated to the Obama campaign, produced the sci-fi show, which stars Berry as an astronaut who returns home from space to find out that she's mysteriously pregnant.
A New Yorker profile of the president, published in January, described Malia as "an aspiring filmmaker" and fan of Lena Dunham's HBO show, Girls.

Tracy Morgan upgraded to fair condition

Tracy Morgan's friends and family got some good news on Monday. Doctors at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., have upgraded the former 30 Rock star's condition from "critical" to "fair," TMZ reported. One of Morgan's representatives also told the gossip site that his "personality is certainly starting to come back as well." Morgan was transported to the hospital on June 7, after the 45-year-old star suffered a broken femur, broken nose and broken ribs in a six-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike. One of Morgan's friends, comedian James McNair, died in crash. Kevin Roper, the driver of the Walmart truck that crashed into Morgan's limo, has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.


Steve Martin refutes 'Father of the Bride 3' report

Steve Martin took to Twitter on Monday to quash a report that he had signed on for Father of the Bride III. "So excited to read I'm doing Father of the Bride 3 since I haven't seen a script or been offered the role!" Martin tweeted of the news. Nikki Finke reported Monday that Martin, now 63, would reprise his role as George Banks, a nervous-but-devoted father dealing with the engagement, and subsequent pregnancy, of his beloved daughter. The supposed third installment of the franchise would see George struggle to cope with the same-sex marriage of his son, Matty, to a Navy SEAL.

Weeks after Jenny McCarthy and her fiance Donnie Wahlberg joked that they'd rather have their wedding ceremony at Applebee's than plan a reception like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's, the duo received an interesting message from the restaurant chain. "I thought it was very cute that Applebee's tweeted us, so we went in on it, we actually said maybe we should have them do the appetizers," McCarthy told Extra. "Or the wedding rehearsal dinner, it was really sweet of them," added Wahlberg. While the pair, who revealed their engagement in April, has not yet begun to plan their upcoming nuptials, they're sure that it'll be "a small wedding in a really beautiful place." "We both want to do it right this time," Wahlberg said. "We've both been married before and we want to make it special... this is the last wedding so..." Last month, the 41-year-old ex-Playmate and the former boy-bander joked with the Boston Herald that her upcoming wedding would be nothing like Kardashian's. "We're not getting married in Istanbul with eight million guests," Wahlberg said. "I won't have three dresses," McCarthy added before saying that Kardashian and West's nuptials made her want to get married "at an Applebee's."
