Rumors are flying that Betty White is going to make an appearance at this week?s DNC. Change.org is hosting an online petition to get her to introduce Obama at the convention. White did host Saturday Night Live in 2010 after a petition was started, I wonder if it will work for this.

Ryan Gosling to direct first feature Oscar-nominated film star Ryan Gosling is to make his directorial debut with "How to Catch a Monster," a fantasy noir he penned, The Hollywood Reporter said. Gosling, 31, is best known for his work in "The Notebook," "Half Nelson," "Blue Valentine," "The Ides of March," "Drive" and "Crazy, Stupid Love." The Hollywood Reporter said "Mad Men" actress Christina Hendricks is attached to star in "How to Catch a Monster," which is to begin shooting in the spring. "I am very appreciative to [producers] Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bold Films for being so supportive, and I look forward to making this film with all of them," Gosling said in a statement to the entertainment industry trade newspaper.
Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Rushed To Hospital For Undisclosed IllnessGreen Day's Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to hospital this weekend forcing the band to cancel their concert in Bologna, Italy. Other Green Day members Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool posted a video where they talked about Armstrong and how "devastated" he was to miss the show, but they promised to make it up to the Italians next year. They did not disclose his illness, and we sure hope it is nothing serious.

Answer Below Russell Crowe RESCUED By U.S. Coast GuardThis weekend, the Academy Award winner was kayaking with a friend off of the Cold Spring Harbor on the Long Island Sound when they got lost. It was already nighttime, so they decided to head to shore until they could receive help - they were a whole ten miles from where they originally were supposed to land. Luckily, the Coast Guard were patrolling the area around 10 p.m. and heard the Noah actor yell out - the actor and his friend then paddled over the Coast Guard's boat where they were lifted onto the boat and given a ride back to Huntington Harbor. Crowe sent out a special message for his new friends who had picked him up. Here's what he said on Twitter: "Kayak;Cold Spring/Huntington Harbour, thanks to Seth and the boys from the US Coast Guard for guiding the way?"

It's Paul McCartneyFrench President Francois Hollande is scheduled to decorate former Beatle Paul McCartney with a Legion of Honour award, the president's office told Reuters on Monday. In the ceremony scheduled for Sept. 8, McCartney will be made an officer of the Legion of Honour, France's highest public distinction which has been awarded to the likes of actor Clint Eastwood and singer Liza Minnelli.
