*** A WORD FROM THE KITCHEN ***

Everyone is getting seasonal sickies aorund me left and
right but I've managed to dodge that ball (knock on wood!)
I could really use a power boost though. This MANGO POWER
SHAKE comes to mind to get me going with a little healthy
boost because mangos are loaded with rich nutrients to
help the immune-system. And with flu season fast approaching
what better a time not to be short-changing your daily
vitamin needs? (I really hope you don't catch this but
either). So find the absolute juiciest mangos you can
and shake away!

Enjoy!

OTHER WAYS TO FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU'RE UNDER THE WEATHER:

Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, vitamin-rich fruit
drinks and hot drinks.

Try some honey (a natural antiseptic) and lemon (a natural
source of vitamin C) dissolved in hot water or herbal and
fruit teas as an alternative to normal tea.

Avoid caffeine containing drinks such as coffee, tea,
cola and other fizzy drinks as these are diuretics, which
could cause further dehydration.

Eat healthy foods, such as fruit and vegetables. Chicken
soup is believed to be a good food for colds and is known
as 'the Jewish penicillin' because Jewish mothers have
long believed that it relieves infections of the upper
respiratory tract.

Wrap up warm and keep the room temperature comfortably warm,
but not hot about 20 degrees centigrade and open the bedroom
window a little so fresh air can circulate.

Humidity may help to ease a cough and congestion a vaporizer
could be used to bring some relief or place a bowl of water
near the radiator in your bedroom.

Get as much rest as you can. If you are well enough to go
into work, make sure you have early nights.
