Robert Kirkman confirms Andrew Lincoln's 'Walking Dead' exit
Comic-book creator and television producer Robert Kirkman has confirmed Andrew Lincoln will leave his role of Rick Grimes after nine seasons on The Walking Dead.

The upcoming season of the zombie-apocalypse drama has long been rumored to be Lincoln's last, but no one from the show officially addressed the matter in public until Kirkman gave an interview to filmmaker and podcast host Kevin Smith Thursday.

The Hollywood Reporter said Smith asked if the buzz about the British actor's impending exit is true and Kirkman replied, "It's looking that way."

"It does make the differences between the comic and the show more pronounced," Kirkman said, referring to how Rick and his son Carl, who was also recently killed in the show, remain alive in the graphic novels. "But at the end of the day, it's all about Andrew Lincoln. This is a human being. This is someone I have known for almost a decade, somebody that I love. He's been sweating in Georgia, away from his family, for so long."

Lincoln and his fellow cast members are scheduled to appear at San Diego Comic-Con Friday, the same day the first, full-length Season 9 trailer is set for release. A teaser showing the various factions of survivors attempting to live together was posted on YouTube Thursday.

"He cares about the fans," Kirkman told Smith about Lincoln. "He cares about the show deeply. He wants to do something special on the way out. We have something amazing planned. I wouldn't want to spoil anything, but anybody who has been a fan of his journey, who loves Rick Grimes, who loves the world of The Walking Dead, you're going to want to see what we do."


Cedric the Entertainer gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Comedian Cedric the Entertainer was honored with the 2,640th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Cedric, born Cedric Antonio Kyles, received the star in a ceremony in front of the El Centro apartment complex on Hollywood Boulevard, honoring his accomplishments as a comedian and actor in film and television.

"Much Love to all of you, for your acknowledgement of me receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to Today," Cedric wrote on Twitter. "Your support of my work throughout the years is a big reason why this day has come. Thank you! And I'm only getting started!"

Cedric received encouragement from fellow comedian Percy Crews to become a stand-up comedian, which eventually led to an acting career beginning as a cast member on the WB comedy The Steve Harvey Show in 1996.

He also starred in the 2000 comedy concert film The Original Kings of Comedy as well as Code Name: The Cleaner and 2005's The Honeymooners. He also voiced characters in the Madagascar film series and Charlotte's Web.

He is currently a cast member on the TBS comedy The Last O.G. and is set to star in the CBS comedy The Neighborhood, premiering Oct. 1.

Comedian George Lopez spoke on Cedric's behalf during the ceremony, noting he's never heard anyone in Hollywood "say a bad word" about Cedric.

"The one thing that I am sure of in the 39 years that I've been able to call myself a professional comedian is I don't think I've seen anyone more deserving of all of this love, more deserving of a friend, more deserving as a peer," Lopez said.

Los Angeles Lakers Legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson also took the podium to praise Cedric for using his platform to not only entertain, but also to "uplift our community, especially in the black and brown community."

"People who don't have a voice, you give them a voice and you alway support people no matter what their status is, no matter how much money they make, you use your platform to always uplift people," Johnson said.

'NCIS' promotes Diona Reasonover after Pauley Perrette's exit
NCIS is promoting Diona Reasonover in the wake of Pauley Perrette's exit.

The 26-year-old actress will play Kasie Hines as a series regular in Season 16 of the CBS series following Perrette's departure from the police procedural.

CBS confirmed the news in a tweet Wednesday.

"Queue @DionaReasonover! We are so excited to welcome you full-time to season 16 of #NCIS as forensic scientist, Kasie Hines!" the studio wrote.

Reasonover first portrayed Kasie in a recurring capacity in Season 15. She appeared with the cast in the Season 15 finale, which marked Perrette's final episode after 15 seasons as Abby Sciuto.

NCIS Season 16 will star Mark Harmon and David McCallum, who play Leroy Gibbs and Ducky Mallard. NCIS posted a video Monday of Brian Dietzen, who portrays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, after filming began on the new season.

"I just got finished filming the first scene of the first episode of NCIS Season 16... and it was great!" the 40-year-old actor said.

"We premiere on September 25th, so please tune in," he added. "I mean, I've just got to say, if every scene do this year is as good as the one we just did... I don't want to toot our own horn here, but it wasn't too shabby."


2019 Grammys gala set for Feb. 10 in L.A.
The 2019 Grammy Awards ceremony will take place Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CBS announced.

The 2018 edition of the gala honoring excellence in music was in New York. Bruno Mars picked up several of the biggest prizes, including Album, Record and Song of the Year.

"We are delighted to host the world's premier music event back in our hometown and look forward to celebrating the remarkable musical contributions made by songwriters, producers, engineers, mixers and recording artists," Neil Portnow, the academy's president and chief executive officer, said in a statement Thursday. "As always, Grammy season will kick off with a series of events that showcase various genres of music, educational programs and our charitable initiatives. We look forward to working with our Los Angeles partners to produce some remarkable and unforgettable events."

"It is exciting that 'Music's Biggest Night' will be back at the Staples Center in the heart of the City of Angels," added Jack Sussman, executive vice president of specials, music and live events for CBS Entertainment. "We look forward to showcasing musicians across multiple musical genres on the world's biggest stage."

The academy announced last month it will expand the number of nominees selected in major Grammy categories such as Record, Song and Album of the Year and Best New Artist from five to eight. The change is intended to give voters greater flexibility in choosing the year's best recordings.

Nominations in all 84 categories are to be announced Dec. 5.

Which stars have joined the 'Cats' movie adaptation?

Jennifer Hudson and Taylor Swift have joined Working Title's movie adaptation of Cats.

Deadline confirmed Friday the 36-year-old singer and actress and 28-year-old pop star will star in the big-screen version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.

The Late Late Show host James Corden and Lord of the Rings star Ian McKellen have also signed on to the project. Additional casting is in the works.

Variety said Hudson will play Grizabella, the "Glamour Cat" who performs the well-known song "Memory." Details have yet to emerge about Swift, Corden and McKellen's roles.

Tom Hooper, the Oscar-winning director of The King's Speech, will direct the Cats film. The movie is scheduled to begin production in the U.K. in November.

Cats is based on the T.S. Eliot book Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. The West End musical starring Elaine Paige as Grizabella debuted in 1981, while the Broadway version with Betty Buckley opened the next year.
