Greetings,

Ridley Scott's 'Robin Hood' is a visionary prequel to the
popular tale and the hit DVD release of the week. If there
is anything that 'Gladiator' taught us it's that when Ridley
Scott and Russell Crowe team up on such big projects as
'Robin Hood', film history is being made. Don't miss this
adventurous instant classic.

Watch It Now,

'Ondine' DVD

Written and directed by Neil Jordan, this romantic tale
pairs Colin Farrell and the striking-looking Alicja Bachleda,
who are a couple in real life. In rural coastal Ireland,
Syracuse (Farrell) is a fisherman who one day pulls in his
net to find a woman (Bachleda) in it. She calls herself
Ondine, and he takes her home to the picturesque cottage
where he lives with his daughter Annie, who is suffering from
kidney failure. Annie believes Ondine is a selkie ? a part
seal, part human creature. The film is long on atmosphere and
short on narrative drive and dramatic tension.

'The Secret in Their Eyes' DVD

Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film,
this is a crime drama with romance and elements of humor. In
Argentina in about 1999, retired criminal investigator
Benjamin Esposito goes to visit a judge, Irene Menéndez
Hastings. He's thinking of writing a book about a murder
they worked on 25 years earlier. In flashback, the film
shows events occurring when Esposito and his alcoholic part-
ner Sandoval were investigating the crime, and it's clear
that the government's handling of the case failed to serve
justice. But also, Benjamin and Irene have feelings for each
other.

'Robin Hood' DVD

Starring Russell Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott, this
action-adventure film is a prequel to the usual tale told
about Robin Hood. When the story opens, Robin Longstride
(Crowe) is an archer serving under Richard the Lionheart in
France. A knight named Robert Loxley is slain, and Robin
takes his sword to his kin in Nottingham. There he meets
Loxley's widow, Marion (Cate Blanchett), and helps her father-
in-law hold onto his property by assuming the identity of her
late husband. Romance blossoms, and Robin becomes the driving
force behind King John signing the Magna Carta.
