My mother, who's 87, wrangled me into going to the Casino. No luck for either of us, but I have to admit it is a lot of fun going with her. I just treasure the time we spend together.

Rick Springfield Confirms Role on "True Detective"

Rick Springfield is confirmed for season two of True Detective.

The 65-year-old Australian musician announced the news Wednesday on Twitter. Springfield's role on the HBO series is being kept under wraps, but it seems the star will appear on multiple episodes.

"Just finished my 1st day of shooting for season 2 of HBO's True Detective," he tweeted. "What a great script. Working w/ Colin Farrell & Rachel McAdams!"

Farrell, McAdams and Taylor Kitsch will portray a trio of detectives thrown into a web of conspiracy after a murder. Farrell stars as Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective beholden to a mobster, McAdams as Ani Bezzerides, an ethical but troubled sheriff's detective, and Kitsch as Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle officer.

True Detective was created by Nic Pizzolatto, and premiered a first season in January. Vince Vaughn will also star on season two as Frank Seymon, a career criminal whose business partner is murdered, with Kelly Reilly as Jordan Woodrugh, Frank's wife and a former D-list actress.

Ewan McGregor Stars as Jesus in New "Last Days in the Desert" Still
A new film called "Last Days in the Desert" stars Ewan McGregor as Jesus Christ in the desert.

The film is described as being "an imagined chapter from Jesus' 40 days of fasting and praying in the desert. On his way out of the wilderness, Jesus struggles with the Devil over the fate of a family in crisis."

The still finds the 43-year-old actor sporting shoulder length, brown hair and tattered clothes in the desert as he stares off into the distance.

Ciarán Hinds, Ayelet Zurer, Tye Sheridan and Susan Gray also have roles in the upcoming motion picture which is slated for an April 2 release.

Lionel Richie's Daughter Gets Modeling Contract at 16
The 16-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie and younger sister of Nicole Richie signed with Select Model Management of London. The company represents such models as Fei Fei Sun and Pixie Geldof, and revealed the news this week.

Richie made her New York Fashion Week debut in September, and has appeared in Teen Vogue and Flaunt magazine. The aspiring model previously told Women's Wear Daily she would also like "to follow in [her] sisters' footsteps" and design her own "very high-end line like House of Harlow."


Selena Gomez Admits She Still Has Love for Justin Bieber
Selena admitted as much in an interview with French radio station NRJ on Thursday. The two were an on-again, off-again couple for years, and the Selena said her music has helped her cope with their tumultuous relationship.

"I definitely have so much respect and love for him," she shared. "['The Heart Wants What It Wants'] was my way of having it be a message more to people in general. People everywhere feel this feeling. They should understand when anybody goes through that. They just can't help what they want and [who] they love."

Selena gave an emotional performance of "The Heart Wants What It Wants" at the 2014 American Music Awards. The song is widely believed to be about the singer's relationship with Bieber, and she told the radio station her time in the studio has proved to be therapeutic.

Gomez and Bieber made their debut as a couple at the 2011 Vanity Fair Oscar party, and have broken up and gotten back together several times since. The stars were seeing each other as of September, but the relationship fizzled out after Bieber was spotted with Kendall Jenner in Paris.

It was George Clooney... In another leaked email from Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal shows that actor George Clooney predicted the Sony hacks in September.

In a correspondance dated Sept. 5, the actor writes Pascal about an upcoming project under the subject line: "knowing this email is being hacked" and goes on to slam those who are snooping, claiming he is "the son of a news man."

"How much fun are we gonna have...The stakes are higher than citizen kane... if we tell the truth in a compelling way... rupert [Murdoch] wont' get time/warner...cnn won't be fox... I'm so excited to do this film..," Clooney wrote, "and for those of you listening in ... i'm the son of a news man... everything will be double sourced.. so come on with with you lawsuits [expletive]"
