Here's the Scoop...

Apparently, the VMAs where held over the weekend. For those that don't know, the VMAs are the MTV Video Music Awards.

I didn't watch any of it because, frankly, I don't care. I don't know any of the songs. I don't know any of the "artists". I don't know any of the video. Come to think of it, I wasn't even aware that music video were even made these days. When was the last time you saw a music video on MTV? 1996?

Be Well,
Steve

Reese Witherspoon 'thinking about' third 'Legally Blonde' movie
Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon said she would consider reprising her beloved role of unconventional, but brilliant barrister Elle Woods in a third Legally Blonde comedy.

Witherspoon played the character in the 2001 original movie and a 2003 sequel.

"A lot of people have asked me if we're going to make another Legally Blonde, and we're thinking about it," the New York Daily News reported the Walk the Line and The Wild star said during a Facebook Live chat.

"[Picking a favorite movie] is like picking your favorite kid," E! News quoted her as saying.

"But... I loved making Legally Blonde, because I love pink! It was really fun!" she added, "I got to wear all the amazing costumes. I also got to work with a dog every day... I'm obsessed with dogs. I love dogs!"

LOOSE LIPS:
"It's pretty sad that that's what impresses her - that just goes to show you how unimpressive I am at home. That I was like, 'I'm going to cook you a meal' and she was like, 'Oh my god!'"
--John Krasinski, on cooking for wife Emily Blunt, to Jimmy Kimmel

Charles Osgood to retire as anchor from 'CBS Sunday Morning'
Charles Osgood has announced he is stepping down as anchor of CBS Sunday Morning after 22 years.

Osgood's 45-year career at CBS News will be celebrated during his final broadcast as anchor of the program on Sept. 25. The special, 90-minute edition of the show will "include surprise guests, interviews, comments from well-wishers and special performances," the network said in a press release this weekend.

He will continue as the anchor of The Osgood File, his daily news commentaries broadcast on the CBS Radio Network and stations around the country, and will also make occasional appearances on CBS Sunday Morning.

"Some of you may have heard rumors lately that I won't be hosting these Sunday Morning broadcasts very much longer," Osgood said on this weekend's edition of the program. "Well, I'm here to tell you that the rumors are true. For years now people -- even friends and family -- have been asking me why I keep doing this considering my age. I am pushing 84. It's just that it's been such a joy doing it! Who wouldn't want to be the one who gets to introduce these terrific storytellers and the producers and writers and others who put this wonderful show together. I want to thank all of them and all of you in our still-growing audience for your support and encouragement. It's been a great run, but after nearly 50 years at CBS, including the last 22 years here on Sunday Morning, the time has come. The date is set for me to do my farewell Sunday Morning. It's September the 25th, after which you can still see me on the radio. The Osgood File continues."

"Charlie is not just beloved by our viewers. He's beloved by all of us who work each week crafting the stories we put on the program," added Rand Morrison, executive producer of CBS Sunday Morning. "Working with him truly has been an honor, a privilege and a joy. We look forward to paying tribute to him and his legendary career in September -- and, of course, seeing him on the radio."

"Charles Osgood has one of the most distinctive voices in broadcasting, guiding each broadcast, making sure the words were just right, and being a calming, reassuring presence to our viewers," remarked David Rhodes, president of CBS News. "His impeccable commitment to quality inspires all of us at CBS News."

Which late night host impersonated Ryan Lochte at the VMAs?

Jimmy Fallon shocked Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps Sunday when he impersonated his teammate Ryan Lochte during the VMAs.

The Tonight Show host appeared onstage during the event to present the award for Video of the Year dressed as Lochte, rocking a blue tracksuit and bleached hair.

The impersonation comes after Lochte was accused of fabricating a story about being pulled over and held at gunpoint with three of his teammates on the second weekend of the Summer Games. A security guard at a gas station later admitted that he had drawn a gun on the swimmers and demanded a fine after they urinated behind the building and Lochte pulled down a sign.

"Who had the best video of the year? I can't tell you that. They're all so great and so talented, I could never choose," Fallon joked. "I couldn't tell you even if there was a gun to my head."

"I directed all five nominees. What an amazing year I've had! I taught Drake the 'Hotline Bling' dance. I made Lemonade with Queen Bey," he continued before Beyonce took home the night's top award for her "Formation" video.

Spotted in the audience was Phelps who was seen enjoying the segment alongside his fiance Nicole Johnson. In a video posted by MTV on Facebook, Phelps was seen mouthing "oh my god" as Fallon made his way onstage.

On Thursday, Rio de Janeiro police charged the 12-time medalist with the crime of false communication. Lochte will now likely be summoned to Brazil in order to testify.
