Rap icon Heavy D dead at 44...

Legendary rapper Heavy D has died at the age of 44.

The popular MC, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital at around noon local time on Tuesday with a mystery ailment. He was pronounced dead at 1 pm.

The hip-hop star rose to fame in the late 1980s with his group Heavy D & the Boyz after they released their debut album, "Living Large," in 1987. They went on to record the theme tune for the hit TV show "In Living Color" before Heavy D branched out as a solo act.

He released a total of seven studio albums throughout his career and scored hits with singles such as Got Me Waiting, Big Daddy and his cover of The O'Jays' "Now That We Found Love," which was released in 1991.

He featured on Michael Jackson's song Jam and was among the stars who paid tribute to the late pop icon at October's Michael Forever event in Wales. The rapper also collaborated with the King of Pop's sister Janet on her hit single "Alright."

He returned to the stage for the first time in 15 years for a special performance at last month's 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Heavy D enjoyed film success too, landing roles in films like Eddie Murphy's 1999 comedy "Life" and 2006 dance movie "Step Up." He reunited with Murphy for a cameo in his new film "Tower Heist."

Adele has throat surgery...

Adele has undergone laser throat surgery in Boston, Mass.

Dr. Steven Zeitels, who performed micro-surgery on Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler in 2006, hopes to have the British singer hitting the high notes again following a procedure at Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday.

Adele was forced to scrap a series of U.S. dates following a throat problem earlier this year.

She agreed to surgery to prevent a possible rupture from a benign polyp, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Adele is expected to make a full recovery.

Carey: I Lost 70 Lbs. After Twins...

Mariah Carey wasn't shy about showing off her baby bump when she was pregnant with now-6-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe Cannon.

And now, she's positively ecstatic about unveiling her hot new post-baby body after losing, she says, a full 70 lbs.

On Tuesday's episode of The Rosie Show on OWN, Mariah, 42, was lowered diva-style onto the stage riding on a crescent moon and wearing a skin-tight black mini-skirt and cleavage baring leather jacket.

She then explained her new physique was courtesy of a strict diet and exercise, along with the loss of what she says is about 40 lbs. of water due to a difficult pregnancy.

Katie Holmes Wants a Dawson's Creek Reunion...

Eight years after wrapping her run on the hit teen drama Dawson's Creek, Katie Holmes says she wouldn't mind getting back together with her cast mates for a reunion of the 1998-2003 hit.

"It would be fun," Katie, who played girl next door Joey Potter on the WB drama, tells Good Morning America's Robin Roberts. "I had so much fun working on that show and I loved everyone so much and I think about it with such fond memories."

Taking on the role when she was 20, Katie, now 32, calls her costars - James van der Beek, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson - "a great group of people."

And Katie, who currently stars alongside Adam Sandler in Jack and Jill, isn't the only Creek alum down to return. Williams - who played Jen Lindley - has long said she'd be back should a reunion take place.

"My God, it was a blessing in so many ways and continues to be," Michelle, now 31, has said of Kevin Williamson's series, which was shot in Wilmington, N.C., and transformed Michelle and her fellow unknown costars into bonafide TV stars.

"It lifted me out of Los Angeles and placed me until I was 22 in a sleepy Southern town," Michelle continued. "It was the best acting class, learning to hit your mark, absorb your lines. I feel indebted to it, and if there was ever a reunion show, sign me up."

*-*-* GUESS WHO *-*-*-

This actress's recent magazine ad for Marc Jacobs's Oh, Lola! perfume is too suggestive, according to Britain's advertising watchdog, and must be pulled immediately...

It's Dakota Fanning...

The ad in question shows the 17-year-old American actress in a thigh-length dotted dress with an oversize flower topped bottle of Oh, Lola! resting between her legs.

The U.K.'s Ad Standards Authority determined that "the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child."

The ASA ruled that the ad was irresponsible, likely to cause "serious offense," and must not appear again.
