QUOTE A DAY - Feb. 1st, 2011
Greetings fellow quote lovers:
I have been selecting quotes to put in front of our
readers for more than 12 years. This issue is extremely
personal for me. Why?
I was interviewed via email for a publication called
"Inspire Me Today" and they asked for a personal
quotation from yours truly.
I write a lot of articles on business, politics and
ethics, but never thought of myself worthy of being
quoted. So when they asked me, I sent along a favorite
Albert Einstein quote.
They sent me back a note reiterating that they wanted
a quote from me. So I went to several articles I had
written over the past couple of years and pulled several
to send to them.
I decided to share some of these with you. I hope you
find at least one of them useful.
Best,
JA

*---- Quotes For The Week ----*
Somehow as our lives were stripped of spiritual pursuits,
we filled them with mindless activity and details. That
is why the great spiritual traditions always speak of the
virtues of simplicity.

Our sense of wonder has been crushed under the weight of
false promises promulgated by technological clay idols of
our own design.

With so much information overwhelming our senses, it is
natural to develop filters to sift through it. If we
filter too much information out, we close ourselves to
the possibilities. If we do not filter any information,
we become paralyzed with overloaded circuits. It is a
balancing act.

*---- More Quotes for the Week ----*
We have become so enamored with numbers that we have
closed ourselves to the possibilities and potential in
what we do. Wonder emanates from within. But the growing
noise in our heads has all but drowned out the wondrous
feelings our hearts beg to express.
--Jaffer Ali, Entrepreneur
-----------------------------------------------------------
Indeed this is a problem for our generation. We seek
frictionless communication because it's more expedient;
less threatening to our temperaments and egos. But just
as friction is used to sharpen a blade, so it can be
used to sharpen one's thinking.
--Jaffer Ali, Entrepreneur

Wonder involves the unexpected, those inexplicable,
spontaneous feelings that inspire our thoughts and
actions.
--Jaffer Ali, Entrepreneur

If we believe that life is a sacred journey, then wonder
is our roadmap to a great life.
