'The Box' DVD

Cameron Diaz and James Marsden star in this sci-fi thriller
based on the Richard Matheson short story "Button, Button,"
which also served as source material for an episode of The
Twilight Zone. In the movie, Norma and Arthur Lewis (Diaz and
Marsden) are taken aback when creepy Arlington Steward (Frank
Langella) delivers a mysterious box to their home. He says
if they push the button on the box, they will receive
$1,000,000, but someone they don't know will die. This gives
rise to a complicated series of events involving the CIA,
NASA, nosebleeds, kidnapping and murder.

'Sorority Row' DVD

This slasher movie was inspired by the 1983 horror film The
House on Sorority Row. The girls of Theta Pi play a prank on
a guy by pretending his ex-girlfriend has overdosed on a
date-rape drug, but she ends up dead when a tire iron is
plunged into her chest. The young people react by covering
up the crime, and nothing comes of it for several months.
Then mysterious cellphone messages are received, and soon a
horrendous killing spree is in progress by someone wielding
a tire iron with blades affixed to it. Nubile actresses are
shown in various states of undress.

'The Informant!' DVD

Matt Damon stars in this peculiar dark comedy directed by
Steven Soderbergh. The movie is based on a true story written
up in a long nonfiction book by Kurt Eichenwald. Damon put
on a lot of weight to play Mark Whitacre, a senior executive
at the Decatur, Illinois, corporate headquarters of agri-
business giant Archer Daniels Midland. In the 1990s Whitacre
voluntarily became an FBI informant, gathering evidence of
ADM's price fixing. But at the same time, he was involved in
behavior that is difficult to understand. The film uses music
by Marvin Hamlisch.
