Kim Kardashian takes baby North to West family funeral
Kanye West attended his grandfather's weekend funeral in Oklahoma with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian and their 2- month-old daughter North, People.com said. Portwood Williams Sr. died Aug. 10. He was 98. His funeral was held Saturday. "That's why they weren't at Kylie's birthday," a source told People.com about why the couple missed the Sweet 16 party for Kardashian's half-sister, Kylie Jenner. "They brought North, too. Her first trip."
Bieber's mom: Hard to let go of adult son
Canadian pop star Justin Bieber's mom, Pattie Mallette, said it's "hard letting go" to a child once they reach adulthood. Mallette, 37, told People magazine her parenting style changed once the singer reached his 18th birthday in 2012. "His life was my life and now I've had to let him go a little bit and let him be independent. It is hard to not be able to control everything that your adult child does," she said. She said she texts or calls her son every day while he's on a world tour. "I definitely want to know everything that he is doing and what he is going through so I try to talk to him as much as he'll let me. I mean, he's on tour and being pulled in a million different directions but we talk as much as he is able," she said. Mallette said she's not oblivious to some of Bieber's behavior, but she's also not prepared to discuss that with strangers, People reported. "A lot of people might think that I have my head in the sand or that I am oblivious to the things my son is doing," she said. "I know who my son is and I don't always agree with every single thing that he does but I don't necessarily have to address that with everyone else. He's my son and I have to respect he is not going to want me going around being 'that mom' talking about his behavior."

Dustin Johnson pops question to Paulina Gretzky
PGA golfer Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky, daughter of hockey great Wayne Gretzky, announced their engagement this weekend. Johnson revealed via Instagram he had popped the question, adding a caption, "She said yes!!" No indication the couple had set a date; however Johnson would be forgiven for waiting until the golf tour's off-season. Johnson is in the middle of a productive year that included five top-10 finishes and a win at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Bleacher Report said supporting a new bride probably won't be an issue since Johnson has won more than $2.5 million this year.
Justin Timberlake wraps up tour with Jay Z, puts on private beach show
Justin Timberlake wrapped up his Legends of Summer tour and hours later, performed an early morning show for a private Miami Beach audience, attendees said. He took to the beach at 2:26 a.m. Saturday and performed an 80-minute set after his show with Jay Z at Sun Life Stadium, which lasted 2 1/2 hours, The Miami Herald said. He performed a range of hits from all his albums, as well as a sample of Jay Z's "I Just Wanna Love You" and a cover of Jackson 5's "Shake Your Body." He brought out surprise guest Timbaland at 3:44 a.m. to close the show with "Sexy Back." Tickets for the concert were $100 and available only to Master Card holders. The show was part of a series of private concerts, the Herald said, which will continue along with his solo tour.

Stacy Ann Ferguson changes name to Fergie Duhamel
Black Eyed Peas singer Stacy Ann Ferguson legally changed her name to Fergie Duhamel after a Los Angeles judge signed off, TMZ reported. The judge gave the approval Friday for the singer to change her last name to that of her husband of five years, actor Josh Duhamel. She also changed her first name because she said no one ever calls her Stacy. In order for the change to be approved, Duhamel had to post a notice in her local newspaper for four weeks before the judge gave approval.
