'Duck Dynasty' stars excited for new season after gay slur controversy
"Duck Dynasty" stars Willie and Korie Robertson said they are ready to move on after the controversy over patriarch Phil Robertson's anti-gay remarks. The A&E cable channel briefly suspended Willie's father, Phil, from the show after he used lewd imagery to describe homosexuality, which he compared to bestiality. "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical," he told GQ magazine in an interview published in December. Willie and his wife, Korie, were asked during a Fox News interview Tuesday night how they felt about Phil's suspension. "We're just glad to be back to work," Willie said. "A&E and us are fine. We're looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It's a new year, so we're ready to break in a new year and start all over again." The pair hinted there will be new people featured in the show this season, which premieres Jan. 15. "I'm just glad the family is all together," Korie said. "The best thing about the show is we get to do it together as a family, and that fact that we get to continue to do that, we're all happy, happy, happy."

Las Vegas police helicopter stunt a violation of policy
Two Las Vegas police officers violated department policy by taking a Guns N Roses guitarist and his girlfriend on a helicopter ride, officials said Wednesday. An internal investigation revealed Capt. David O'Leary and Officer Ray Horsley misused departmental resources in August when they took Daren Jay "DJ" Ashba and his girlfriend on a ride in a police helicopter, part of an elaborate marriage proposal by Ashba. The ride ended with the couple being dropped off in a field near police headquarters, where champagne and roses awaited them, the Las Vegas Sun reported Wednesday. O'Leary was to receive a demotion to lieutenant but retired instead. Horsley will be transferred from the department's Air support Detail and will no longer fly, officials said.
Robin Thicke unhappy with size of Miami hotel room
Pop singer Robin Thicke threatened to back out of a planned New Year's Eve gig because his Miami hotel room was too small, the New York Post reported. The "Blurred Lines" recording artist was scheduled to serve as host of a party at the SLS Hotel South Beach Tuesday night, but he said he would scrap the appearance if he wasn't moved to a different hotel room after he checked in Monday. "He threatened to pull out if he didn't get a bigger room," a source told the Post. "His travel agent was calling all over Miami to get him a bigger room at a different hotel." He ultimately calmed down and performed at the party, the newspaper said. "Robin has been a great guest," a hotel representative told the Post.
