Lou Reed hospitalized for dehydration
Rocker Lou Reed, who had a liver transplant in May, was hospitalized for dehydration during the weekend, the New York Post reported Monday. Reed, 71, was taken to the emergency room at Southampton Hospital on Long Island, N.Y., Sunday morning. "Everything's fine," an unidentified woman who answered a phone in the unit where Reed was being treated told the Post. No other details about his condition or expected release from the hospital were immediately available. The music icon talked about his declining health in a June 20 interview, the newspaper said. "How could time go that quickly?" he mused. "The other day, I was 19. I could fall down and get back up. Now if I fall down. you are talking about nine months of physical therapy."
Paris Jackson thanks fans for support after suicide attempt
Paris Jackson, who remains hospitalized in Los Angeles following a suicide attempt last month, is thanking her fans for their support. "My daughter has asked that I extend a huge thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers and support. She is strong like her father," Jackson's mother, Debbie Rowe, tweeted last Saturday. Jackson is the 15-year-old daughter of the late pop music icon Michael Jackson. She was admitted to the psychiatric facility at UCLA Medical Center after cutting her arm with a kitchen knife and taking dozens of Motrin pills June 5. The high-school student is expected to fully recover from her injuries and is being treated for depression, her family has said.

Avril Lavigne marries Chad Kroeger in France
Canadian musicians Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have married at Chateau La Napoule in Mandelieu, France, UsMagazine.com said Tuesday. The 28-year-old pop star and 38-year-old Nickelback lead singer exchanged vows in front of about 50 guests Monday night, the report said. "Yes, they're married," one source told the magazine. "It was a wild, all-night party with drinking, dancing, incredible food and lots of laughter and tears of happiness," a second insider said. The couple announced their engagement in August 2012.
Terminator 2' star Edward Furlong avoids additional jail time
Edward Furlong pleaded no contest in a Los Angeles court to a felony charge of willful infliction of corporal injury on a cohabitant or spouse, records show. E! News said prosecutors agreed to drop six other charges pending against the "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Before and After" star in exchange for his plea Monday. Furlong was sentenced to 61 days in jail, but was credited for time served, E! said. The 35-year-old actor was placed on probation for five years, ordered to attend 90 days of a drug-treatment program and instructed to complete 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling. He also is forbidden to have any contact with his ex-girlfriend.
