Saturday, June 29, 2013Hello Everyone...
When looking up blues legends, the obvious choices would be BB King, Buddy Guy, or Albert King. I seem to have more of an affinity for Delta Blues after listening to Jack White and the White Stripes for so long though. His all-time favorite artist has been reported to be Son House, evidenced also by several obscure covers they regularly perform in concert.
I typically like the jangly-sounding resonator guitars and slide techniques. Son House also has one heck of a soulful voice. Here's one of his most popular songs, covered by countless artists - Death Letter. There's a lot of interesting things to listen and watch for - a finger-picking solo artist really can bring it home in this vintage video.
