Here's the Scoop...

Yesterday I heard that former first lady Nancy Reagan had passed away. This was very sad to hear.

When I was a kid I remember her from the "Just Say No" campaign. Her picture was all over school; you couldn't avoid it. Plus, she reminded me of my grandma.

In the last few years I watched a few of her movies when she was a starlet. I like cult classics so 'Donovan's Brain' wound up on my radar. It was a good one.

She seemed sweet and strong, a true First Lady. She will be missed.

Be Well,
Steve

Former first lady Nancy Reagan dead at age 94
Former first lady Nancy Reagan, once an obscure Hollywood starlet who later implored a generation of young people to "Just Say No" to drugs, died Sunday morning of congestivel heart failure. She was 94.

Known as one of the most hands-on First Ladies the United States has ever had, Reagan controlled the schedule of her husband, President Ronald Reagan, and was known for influencing White House staff appointments and firings, the New York Daily News reports.

She was also well-known for consulting an astrologer for divine intervention.

"For eight years, I was sleeping with the president, and if that doesn't give you special access, I don't know what does!" she once said.

Reagan was nearly always by the side of her late husband "Ronnie" as he transformed from Hollywood movie actor to California governor, then two-term President of the United States. "My life really began when I married my husband," she once said.

Her representative, Joanne Drake, said Reagan died of congestive heart failure. "Mrs. Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died on June 5, 2004," Drake wrote in a statement.

Nancy Robbins was born July 6, 1921 at Sloane Hospital in Flushing, Queens. Her mother, Edith was a socialite and actress and her father, Kenneth Robbins, was a used car salesman. Her parents divorced when she was 6 and her mother, busy pursuing her acting career in New York City, sent her to live with an aunt and uncle, Virginia and Audley Galbraith, in Bethesda, Maryland.

When Edit Robbins married neurosurgeon Loyal Davis, he legally adopted Nancy, making her the only First Lady ever to be legally adopted.

"Prior to the funeral service, there will be an opportunity for members of the public to pay their respects at the Library," Drake said in her statement.

Beyonce covers Whitney Houston at Blue Ivy's school gala
Beyonce made a surprise appearance at daughter Blue Ivy's school benefit.

The 34-year-old singer performed several songs, including her single "Crazy in Love" and Whitney Houston hit "I Will Always Love You," at the Center for Early Education's 75th anniversary gala on Saturday.

The event honored Reveta Bowers, the longtime head of the "socio-economically and culturally diverse independent school." Several audience members shared photos and video of Beyonce's performance.

"About 20 minutes before she went on stage there were rumors that Beyonce would be performing, but no one was 100 percent certain until she actually walked out," an eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight.

Beyonce and husband Jay Z married in 2008 and welcomed Blue Ivy in 2012. The singer shared her love for her daughter in an interview with Vogue the next year, calling Blue Ivy her "homey" and "best friend."

"I feel like I have something that has grounded me so much more," she said. "Family has always been important. I've always had my mother and my father and my husband. But it's just... Life is so much more than [fame]. It's not defined by any of this."

Blue Ivy accompanied Beyonce to her Super Bowl 50 performance in February, where she bonded with Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter Apple. Paltrow revealed she regularly babysits Blue Ivy in an interview with ET last week.

Beyonce released her fifth, self-titled studio album in 2013 and followed up with the single "Formation" last month. The singer will promote the song and her upcoming sixth album on her Formation world tour, which kicks off April 27 in Miami, Fla.

Alyssa Milano says 'Charmed' reunion is not a done deal
Actress Alyssa Milano took to Twitter to quell rumors that she and the co-stars of her hit supernatural drama Charmed are reuniting for a reboot.

"Nothing has been confirmed. CBS is developing a reboot without the original cast. That's all I know for sure," Milano tweeted Saturday.

"With all the reunion shows it seems like #charmed would be a great choice since we have the most loyal and best fans ever," she quickly followed up. "But I would imagine until CBS makes a decision on their reboot a true reunion type of show will not be happening due to CBS owning the rights."

Milano's tweets come after several other series, such as Gilmore Girls, Full House, The X-Files, Twin Peaks and Arrested Development, have all been revived with their original stars.

Charmed ran 1998-2006, and starred at various times Milano, Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan and Brian Krause.
