Mindy McCready says she didn't kill boyfriend David Wilson

U.S. country singer Mindy McCready said on TV's "Dateline" she didn't kill David Wilson, but isn't convinced her boyfriend fatally shot himself either. Wilson, 34, was a singer-songwriter and the father of McCready's infant son. He was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Jan. 13 and his death remains under investigation. Asked in a soon-to-air "Dateline" interview if she shot Wilson, McCready replied: "Oh, my God, no. Oh, my God, no. ... He was my life. We were each other's life." Pressed to disclose whether she believed "100 percent" Wilson committed suicide or whether he might have been murdered, the singer grew quiet, then said, "I don't know." McCready also denied rumors claiming Wilson had cheated on her shortly before he died. "David was not having an affair with another woman. That is absolutely totally untrue," McCready said. "I've never gone through anything this painful, nor will I ever again go through anything as painful," she added. The "Dateline" interview was excerpted on Tuesday's edition of the "Today" show. E! News said Wilson's friends are baffled by why the new father would want to kill himself. They also said McCready did not attend a Jan. 19 memorial they arranged for him. McCready's once-bright career has been sidelined in recent years by her battles with substance abuse, suicide attempts and legal woes.

Barbra Streisand to perform at the Oscars

Two-time Oscar winner Barbra Streisand is to sing at next month's Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, the telecast's producers announced Wednesday. This will be the second time the actress, film director and music icon performs at the Oscars. She previously sang the love theme from "A Star is Born" on the March 28, 1977, show, winning the Best Original Song Oscar for "Evergreen" that same night. "In an evening that celebrates the artistry of movies and music, how could the telecast be complete without Barbra Streisand? We are honored that she has agreed to do a very special performance on this year's Oscars, her first time singing on the show in 36 years," producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a joint statement. The producers did not say what Streisand will sing. Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. Seth MacFarlane is to serve as host of the event, which will air live on the ABC Television Network.

'Entourage' the movie on the way

Warner Bros. has green-lit a movie version of the Hollywood-themed HBO comedy series "Entourage," Deadline reported. The award-winning show's stars -- Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven -- are expected to reprise their roles in the big-screen version of "Entourage," which will be directed by series creator Doug Ellin. Ellin also penned the film's screenplay, Deadline said. He also produced the series, which ran from 2004-11, with Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson. A start date for production on the film has yet to be announced.
