Here's the Scoop...

So I just read a story that said Jon Gosselin, of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' fame, took a job at TGI Friday's because he likes to cook.

Well, maybe he should have stayed home and cooked for his own family. It seems like there are plenty of mouths to feed in that household.

It's just a thought.

Be Well,
Steve

Michelle Obama joins James Corden for special edition of Carpool Karaoke
First Lady Michelle Obama joined James Corden for a special White House edition of Carpool Karaoke Wednesday on The Late Late Show.

"So you wanna go for a spin?" Michelle asked a shocked Corden shortly after he pulled into the White House.

As they cruised around the White House grounds with the Secret Service following closely behind, the FLOTUS explained to the late night host that it was only the second time since President Barack Obama's 2008 election that she got to ride in the passenger seat of a car.

"I've been in a car - it was months ago - with my daughter who learned to drive," she said. "And that was the only time in seven and a half years that I've been in the passenger seat listening to music, rocking out like this."

Michelle and Corden then proceeded to jam out to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" by Stevie Wonder, her favorite artist, before moving onto Beyonce's "Single Ladies."

"We were both fully in the Beyhive," Corden joked referencing the nickname given to the singer's most passionate fans.

"We just dropped the mic into the hive," Michelle agreed. "We were making honey in the Beyhive. We were making honey to put in our Lemonade."

For their next song, Corden and Michelle were joined by Missy Elliott for "This is for My Girls," a charity song for the First Lady's Let Girls Learn initiative. The track, produced by MAKERS.com and commissioned by President Obama, relates to the stigma that prevents girls from getting a a proper education.

The trio then wrapped things up with a high-energy rendition of Elliott's "Get Ur Freak On."

The Secret Service tweeted Corden Wednesday night, writing "Thank you @JKCorden and the @latelateshow for bringing @FLOTUS home safe and sound after #CarpoolKaraoke. We were watching @SecretService."

Which soap opera taped its 13,000th episode this week?

'Veep' star Peter MacNicol's Emmy nomination rescinded
Veep star Peter MacNicol's Outstanding Guest Actor Emmy nomination has been rescinded by the Academy of Television and Arts and Sciences.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will no longer be eligible for the prestigious award after it was discovered that he appeared in five of Veep's ten Season 5 episodes.

Official rules state that to be considered in any of the guest acting categories, the star must have appeared in "less than 50 percent" of a season's episodes, a stipulation that was only added last year.

Notably, MacNicol only briefly appeared for about 10 seconds in the ninth episode of Season 5, costing him the nomination. A new nominee is expected to be announced shortly.

"Upon review of the guest actor in a comedy series category, the Television Academy has determined that Peter MacNicol unfortunately exceeds the number of episodes permissible for inclusion in that category," the academy said in a statement.

"HBO's guest actor entry for Peter MacNicol was accurate at the time of the submission deadline, but he was subsequently included in an additional 'Veep' episode. Unfortunately, that additional appearance places him in 50% of the season's episodes and makes him no longer eligible to compete in the guest actor category. This decision is in no way a diminishment of Mr. MacNicol's stellar performance on this season of Veep," they continued.

Emmy nominations have been rescinded before with actor Henry Winkler losing out on his nomination in 2000 after it was discovered that his guest appearance on Battery Park took place after the eligibility deadline.

Which soap opera taped its 13,000th episode this week?

Days of our Lives will tape its milestone 13,000th episode this week at the Burbank Studios, NBC announced.

The network's longest running daytime drama is now in its 51st season.

To celebrate its latest achievement, a special Days of Our Lives fan event is being planned for Aug. 27 at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville. Stars from the show will participate in a panel discussion and sign autographs.

"This is truly a staggering achievement. We have 13,000 blessings to be thankful for today. My deep and abiding appreciation to NBC and Sony Pictures Television for their unwavering support throughout the decades," executive producer Ken Corday said in a statement Tuesday. "I am so grateful to the generations of artists, craftspeople and faithful viewers who have devoted much of their lifetimes to Days of our Lives, falling in love with the people of Salem each and every episode. You have all made this breathtaking milestone possible."

"In an age of where too many shows come and go so quickly, the legacy and longevity of Days of our Lives is absolutely remarkable," added Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment. "We tip our cap to Ken Corday and his entire team, who have made the series an indelible part of television history."
