Michael Clarke Duncan passes away at age 54Michael Clarke Duncan's fiancee, Omarosa Manigault, said
the actor died Monday in a Los Angeles hospital, nearly two months after suffering a heart attack. The bodyguard-turned film-star was 54. His credits include "The Green Mile," "Armageddon," "The Whole Nine Yards," "Brother Bear" and "Sin City." "Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time," a representative for reality TV personality Manigault said in a statement People.com. "Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date." "I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike," People.com quoted Tom Hanks, Duncan's "Green Mile" co-star, as saying Monday. "He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of 'The Green Mile.' He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned." Duncan, who was 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, went into full cardiac arrest July 13, but was revived when Manigault performed CPR on him and transported him to a hospital where he was treated until Monday when he died. The exact cause of his death was not immediately reported.
Bobby Brown's wife suffers seizureBobby Brown's wife and manager, Alicia Etheridge-Brown, suffered a diabetes-related seizure in Florida during the weekend, People.com reported. Etheridge was diagnosed with the disease in 2009. She was hospitalized after suffering a seizure in a Kissimmee, Fla., hotel room. People.com said there has been no update on her condition since Brown confirmed via Twitter his wife's hospitalization Saturday.
"The report that my wife was rushed to the hospital is true," Brown tweeted. "She is recovering and is in good spirits and doing well. Please keep my family in your prayers." Brown was scheduled to perform with New Edition show at the Gaylord Palms Resort, but canceled so he could be with his spouse. Brown's career has been on an upswing lately, but his personal life has been rocky. His ex-wife, singer Whitney Houston, accidentally drowned in a hotel bathtub last February after using cocaine. She was 48. Soon after she was buried, Brown -- a recovering drug addict and alcoholic -- was arrested for driving under the influence and ordered to check into rehab as part of a plea deal.
Brown married Etheridge-Brown in June.
