Here's the Scoop...
I was deeply saddened to learned that Merle Haggard passed away; on his 79th birthday no less. That's tough.
Haggard was an outlaw and icon of country music. His songs were as tough and troublesome as the life he lead. He will always be remembered for his music and and the stories and truth that each song told.
Rest in peace.
Be Well,
Steve

Country star Merle Haggard dies on 79th birthday
Country music icon Merle Haggard is dead after reportedly experiencing a bout of pneumonia. His death occurred on his 79th birthday Wednesday morning.
The singer-songwriter and member of the Outlaw Country movement and pioneer of the Bakersfield sound is said to have died at his home near Redding, Calif., according to TMZ.
His manager told the outlet he had been battling pneumonia for some time, having spent 11 days in the hospital earlier this year. The singer, who recently released a joint album with singer Willie Nelson titled Django and Jimmie, had canceled most of his shows for the rest of 2016 in order to recover.
Haggard's "Mama Tried," was recently chosen for preservation in the National Recording Registry alongside American favorites like Billy Joel's "Piano Man" and Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive."
LOOSE LIPS:
"Once you make yourself happy, you can give so much more to the world, to the people you come in contact with. For me it's working out, and my slogan is: The way you move directly affects the way you feel. It's good for your soul, your health, future generations to come!"

John Travolta says on 'Ellen' he doesn't interfere in teen daughter's dating
John Travolta portrayed himself as a modern, easy-going and supportive dad in a Tuesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show.
The People vs OJ Simpson: American Crime Story actor appeared on the show with his wife, Kelly Preston, and his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta. But it seems the interview was mostly directly to the 16-year-old girl.
Host Ellen DeGeneres asked Ella if she was dating someone, but her father answered before she could.
"Oh no no, I don't interfere with that. I know two guys she hangs out with, but I don't ask anything about what they say or do with each other," he said.
"I know, mom knows everything," said Preston in response to DeGeners' question. Nevertheless, both mother and daughter confessed the teen is not dating yet.
Regarding the 16-year-old driving, DeGeneres took her outside the studios to see how good she was on parallel parking.
"I am going to let you drive my car. That's how much I trust you," joked the host. John Travolta, DeGeneres and Ella went outside and they let the girl sit in front for her driving test.
Even though DeGeneres did not let her finish her task, it seems Ella will be a good driver.
The series finale of The People vs. O.J. Simpson airs at 10 p.m. Tuesday on FX.

Which 80s-90s action icon returns in the trailer for action-thriller flick 'Blood Father'?
Icon Australia has released the trailer for the latest Mel Gibson action-thriller Blood Father.
Helmed by French filmmaker Jean-François Richet, the film co-stars Erin Moriarty, Diego Luna, William H. Macy, Thomas Mann and Elisabeth Rohm.
It is expected to open in theaters Aug. 25.
The profanity-laced clip introduces Gibson as ex-con, tattoo artist John Link, who breaks parole to protect his once-missing daughter from violent drug dealers against the backdrop of the American Southwest.
Gibson, 60, is an actor, director, producer and Oscar winner known for his films The Passion of the Christ, The Patriot, Braveheart, and the Lethal Weapon and Mad Max film franchises.
He was most recently seen on-screen in 2014 in the aging action-hero, ensemble flick The Expendables 3. The last film he directed was 2006's Apocalypto and he won an Oscar for Best Director for 1995's Braveheart.
Gibson has stayed out of the limelight in recent years after controversial racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic remarks he made on various occasions sparked a backlash from colleagues and fans.
The actor has publicly apologized for his behavior, which also included a drunk-driving arrest and allegations of domestic violence from the mother of his youngest child, explaining that he was angry and/or drunk at the times of the incidents. Some longtime, famous friends such as director George Miller, actress Jodie Foster and actor Robert Downey Jr. have continuously stood by him and vouched for his character despite his myriad scandals.
