Matt Damon completes Ice Bucket Challenge with toilet water

Matt Damon used toilet water to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge on Monday. The 43-year-old actor collected the water from various toilets in his home to raise awareness about the lack of clean drinking water worldwide, in addition to ALS research. Damon is the co-founder of Water.org, a non-profit that provides clean water and sanitation resources to countries around the globe. "This is truly toilet water," he confirmed in a video of the challenge. "For those of you like my wife who think this is really disgusting, keep in mind that the water in our toilets in the West is actually cleaner than the water that most people in the developing world have access to." Damon was nominated by longtime collaborator Ben Affleck and Tonight Show host Jimmy Kimmel, and nominated George Clooney, Bono and Tom Brady in turn. The actor last appeared in The Monuments Men with Clooney earlier this year.


Chandra Wilson to host 'Schoolhouse Rock' special on ABC

Grey's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson is to host a television special called The ABC's of Schoolhouse Rock next month. The one-hour program will celebrate the classic 1970s Saturday morning cartoons that taught history, math, science and grammar. The special is scheduled to air Sept. 7 on ABC. It will also include interviews with some of the cartoons' creators and writers. "The ABC's of Schoolhouse Rock will celebrate the pop-culture phenomenon and pay tribute to the beloved songs that rocked their way into American hearts over 40 years ago," ABC said in a news release.


Katie Holmes has moved back to Los Angeles with Suri

Katie Holmes has reportedly left her New York City apartment for a spacious home in Calabasas, Calif. TMZ reports, Holmes' new 6,000-square-foot home in The Oaks cost $3,795,000. The property is located close to where Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and Toni Braxton Live. The Mrs. Meadows star, 35, reportedly decided to move to California in an effort to revamp her career and because she thinks it'll be a better place to raise Suri, her 8-year-old daughter with Tom Cruise, and there are many kids in their new neighborhood. Holmes got her daughter a new pet chihuahua she named Maple as a moving-away present, but new reports claim the dog has already gone missing. The actress is reportedly offering a $1,000 reward to whomever finds it. Holmes will next star in the dramas Days and Night, Mrs. Meadows and Mania Days in 2014 and in Woman in Gold in 2015.

Molly Ringwald's daughter poses as her 'Sixteen Candles' character

Molly Ringwald took to Twitter last week to share a photo of her oldest daughter posing as her character from Sixteen Candles. "She can't escape her mom, even when "back to school" shopping at Target," the Breakfast Club star captioned a snapshot of her and Panio Gianopoulos' 11-year old daughter Mathilda posing next to a poster from Sixteen Candles. The 46-year-old actress starred in the iconic coming-of-age film along Michael Schoeffling and Anthony Michael Hall. The film was released in 1984. After starring on the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager from 2008 to 2013, Ringwald is returning to the big screen and is scheduled to star in Wishin' and Hopin' in 2014 and in Jem and the Holograms in 2016.


Sarah Hyland, Matt Prokop break up after 5 years

Sarah Hyland and Matt Prokop have broken up. The 23-year-old Modern Family star and Prokop met while auditioning for High School Musical 3: Senior Year in 2009, and were together for five years. The pair co-starred in Disney channel movie Geek Charming in 2011. Hyland's rep confirmed the breakup to Us Weekly, and a source tells the magazine the split was amicable. "Sarah's doing fine. It didn't work out," the insider says. "She's young. They decided they would be better off as friends." Hyland is best known for her role as Haley Dunphy on Modern Family. The actress celebrated with her co-stars at the 2014 Emmy awards on Monday, but did not bring a date. The sitcom won Outstanding Comedy Series, and will return September 24 on ABC.
