Hello Animal lovers,

I have to be honest with you, dear readers, I did not know what a magpie was. All I knew it was some type of bird, but that's it. Did you know that it's actually not only one of the smartest birds in the world, but one of the smartest animals? Magpies are one of the few animals that passes a self-awareness test, by recognizing itself in the mirror.

How impressive is that? Most children are found to gain that ability at around 18 months of age. That's pretty smart for a bird! To further demonstrate the intelligence of this bird, just check out this clip of the bird playing with a puppy. It's really cool!
