Ludacris will perform for the U.S. Navy on July 4 at Guantanamo Bay
Rapper Ludacris takes his show to Guantanamo Bay to perform a Fourth of July concert for the U.S Navy.

He will headline the annual Freedom Festival, performing before about 6,000 military personnel. The festival, which includes family activities, kicks off at 6 p.m., The Independent reported and the music portion of the event will begin at 10 p.m.

The Grammy Award-winning artist has performed previously for U.S.military personnel at both Maryland's Fort Meade in 2010 and at Fort Hood in Texas in 2014.

"Every year we get a special guest around the Fourth of July, but Gitmo hasn't seen a star with as big a name as Ludacris in several years," Navy Chief Monique Hilley said. "The base is really looking forward to it."

Base officials notified residents a few days ago that Ludacris would perform at the free festival, the Miami Herald reported.The event takes place at Guantánamo's Windward Ferry Landing.

Guantanamo is best known as the detention center that holds 89 war-on-terror prisoners, the prison, President Barack Obama wants closed. It is inside a restricted military zone and is home to troops, Navy families and defense contractors.

The area where the music will be performed is far enough away from the actual detention camps that prisoners there won't be enjoying Ludacris belt out My Chick Bad or Act a Fool.

"This is by far the biggest entertainment since I have been here," Christina Blevins told The Guardian. "I'm thankful we get to see him before we leave. I will take many memories away from this place but this one will be a huge highlight."

Lock of David Bowie's blond hair sells for $18,750
A single lock of late legendary musician David Bowie's hair sold at auction this past weekend for $18,750.

The tress had been plucked in 1983 by Wendy Farrier to be used at London's Madame Tussauds Wax Museum when staff there created his likeness in wax, Spin reported.

Farrier kept the golden tress in a picture frame for 33 years until eventually handing it over to auction house Heritage Auctions, NME reported.

And that famous Yellow Cloud guitar Prince sported on stage in his early days? It sold for $137,500 to Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. Irsay previously paid $1.66 million in December for a drum kit owned by Ringo Starr and used during his days with The Beatles.

A few Bowie items brought to auction failed to meet their reserve price, including a signed copy of the musician's 1971 album "Hunky Dory" and an alternative sleeve of artwork for his 1976 album "Station to Station. Those items can still be purchased from heritage for $515 and $825, respectively.

The auction had a tinge of controversy after Emmy organizers ordered the auction house to withdraw an Emmy statue from the auction won by Whitney Houston. Houston won the Emmy for her performance of Saving All My Love For You during the Grammys. Emmy organizers got a restraining order to stop its sale at auction.

Which pop star is a fan of 'The Bachelorette'?

Justin Bieber admitted in an Instagram post that he watches The Bachelorette.

The pop singer also has a favorite contestant - Season 12's villain Chad Johnson, People reported.

Johnson got sent home last week when he failed to win JoJo Fletcher's heart. Still, Bieber posted an Instagram video from last week's two-on-one date with Johnson, Fletcher and Alex Woytkiw.

"Good point chad milk is delicious," Bieber commented next to the video. "And yeah I watch the bachelorette don't judge me." Bieber can be heard laughing at the video riff between Johnson and Woytkiw.

Johnson made entertainment news recently, himself, when he was spotted in photos with fellow contestant Robby Hayes' ex-girlfriend, Hope Higginbotham. Johnson posted the pictures of himself and Higginbotham on his Instagram.

"While traveling this weekend, our paths crossed and I finally had the opportunity to meet Hope Higginbotham in person," Johnson wrote. "Let me just say, she is even more beautiful in person! A great girl like her deserves so much better than someone who lies, cheats, and ends a four year long relationship in order to pursue fame on a tv show. You're amazing, I miss you already."
