1 Corinthians 13:4

Love...is not puffed up.

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Last week we began to look at 'the love chapter' in Corinthians. We will continue looking at these scriptures this week! "Puffed Up" can mean arrogant, conceited, haughty. Surely, it would be almost impossible to love under these conditions? Remember Proverbs 16:18? "Pride goes beforedestruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall." Put off any pride or arrogance that you may have, that you might put on love!

God Bless You!

--TODAY'S NOT SO TRIVIAL TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. Did Hagar's attitude towards Sarai change when she found out that she was pregnant? How?

Answer below.

--TODAY'S BIT OF WISDOM/REFLECTION:

The love of God, with arms extended on a cross, bars the way to hell. But if that love is ignored, rejected, and finally refused, there comes a time when love can only weep while man pushed past into the self-chosed alienation that Christ went to the cross to avert.

--FEATURED FUNNY:

A woman was at home with her children when the telephone rang. In going to answer it, she tripped on a rug, grabbed for something to hold on to and seized the telephone table. It fell over with a crash, jarring the receiver off the hook.

As it fell, it hit the family dog, which leaped up, howling and barking. The woman's three-year-old son, startled by this noise, broke into loud screams. The woman mumbled some colorful words. She finally managed to pick up the receiver and lift it to her ear, just in time to hear her husband's voice on the other end say, "Nobody's said hello yet, but it certainly sounds as if I have the right number."
