Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is embarking on a new singing career
after reportedly landing her first record deal.
Gwyneth, who is married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, is set
to record her first album after inking a $900,000 recording
contract with Atlantic.
She impressed label executives with her portrayal of a singer
in movie "Country Strong" and her all-singing performance on
TV musical "Glee."
Gwyneth is no stranger to chart success. Two of her tracks from
the 2000 movie "Duets" went platinum in Australia.

Lohan to sue jewelry store for selling surveillance tape...
Lindsay Lohan is set to sue the owners of the California jewelry
store who accused her of stealing a necklace over their decision
to sell surveillance video footage of the alleged incident to
the media.
Kamofie & Company bosses released the CCTV tapes to the
Associated Press after striking a deal reportedly worth $40,000.
The video has since emerged online.
The news has infuriated Lindsay, who argues the jewelers are
attempting to cash in on her name and she is preparing to take
them to court because she never granted the store owners
permission to use her image for profit.
But a representative for Kamofie & Company has defended the
decision to release the tapes.
A statement issued reads, "We regret to hear there is
trepidation by Miss Lohan in connection with the video. We hope
that everyone understands that this is beyond our control, the
flood of the requests to see this video were simply too
overwhelming. It was truly necessary to put it out."
Lindsay is facing a felony grand theft charge over the incident
and is due back in court on March 10.
She has pleaded not guilty to the accusation and has been warned
by a judge that she will be sentenced to jail if she accepts a
plea deal.

Rob Lowe in talks to replace Charlie Sheen...
Rob Lowe is in talks to replace Charlie Sheen in "Two and a Half
Men."
Sheen was fired from the sitcom on Monday following a 10-day
media blitz, during which he blasted show producers and show
creator/writer Chuck Lorre for canceling the remaining episodes
of the current eighth season of the program.
And Lorre is already lining up the star's replacement following
speculation TV veteran John Stamos would be the man for the job.
TMZ.com reports Lorre's team has been talking to Lowe, who is
currently starring in "Parks & Recreation" after stints on
dramas "Brothers & Sisters" and "The West Wing."
A source reveals TV bosses at Warner Bros. have been in touch
with Lowe's agent at William Morris-Endeavor.
Ironically, Lowe grew up with the Sheen family.
No decisions have been made about the future of the show, which
co-stars "Pretty In Pink" actor Jon Cryer.

Gibson Reaches Plea Deal in Domestic Violence Case...
To avoid a messy battle in court, Mel Gibson has reached a plea
deal with Los Angeles prosecutors in his domestic violence case.
Mel will plead no contest in court Friday to a charge of
misdemeanor battery of his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, and
will face no jail time, the source confirms. He'll likely be
ordered to complete some form of counseling and serve probation
as well.
"I know from almost 20 years as a criminal defense lawyer that
sometimes justice can come for a client at too high a personal
price," Mel's lawyer Blair Berk said in a statement Wednesday.
"That is particularly so for Mel, whose right to due process can
only be exercised in this case with an enormous media circus
attached. Mel's only priority throughout all of this has been
that the best interests of his young daughter Lucia and the rest
of his children be put first in any decisions made. It is with
only that in mind that he asked me to approach the District
Attorney with a proposal that would bring all of this to an
immediate end."
Oksana alleged that Mel punched her in the head and face more
than once at his Malibu home in January 2010. Mel later
admitted to only slapping her to restrain her from shaking their
baby Lucia while the couple were arguing.
"I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to
bring her back to reality," Mel stated in a legal declaration.
"I did not slap her hard. I was just trying to shock her so
that she would stop screaming, continuing shaking Lucia back
and forth."
Mel, meanwhile, has alleged that Oksana tried to extort him for
millions, although it isn't immediately clear if she'll be
charged with a crime.
A source close to him says, "Mel is relieved that he is sparing
his family any further anguish and that he can put this behind
him."

Mike Starr Found Dead...
Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr, who appeared on
season 3 of the VH1 reality show Celebrity Rehab, was found
dead in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, according to reports. He
was 44.
The cause and manner of death were not immediately known.
Mike's former bandmates, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney,
released a statement which read: "Jerry and Sean are mourning
the loss of their friend and ask that the media respect their
privacy, and the privacy of Mike's family, during this difficult
time. Their thoughts & prayers are with Mike's family."
Dr. Drew Pinsky, the host of Celebrity Rehab, responded to
Mike's death with a note on Twitter that read: "Devastating
to hear of Mike Starr succumbing to his illness. So very sad.
Our prayers are with his family."
Alice in Chains' original singer, Layne Staley, died of a drug
overdose in 2002.

The "Transformers" beauty came under scrutiny after stripping
down to her lingerie for Emporio Armani latest campaign, in
images which show her extremely skinny frame and protruding
ribcage.
However, Megan's trainer Harley Pasternak, who also works with
Lady Gaga and Robert Pattinson, insists her thin figure is down
to genetics and not drastic dieting.
He comments, "Do I worry about Megan getting too skinny? Yeah!
Believe it or not she has this really fast metabolism. So her
training is all about body toning and sculpting. With her it's
really about if she's eating enough of the right things. People
thought, 'Oh she must be anorexic' but she's far from that!
"She gets frustrated at times because she's like 'I need to put
on weight.' So she actually weight-trains to keep on that lean
muscle tissue."
