Here's the Scoop....
So much for Lindsay Lohan's clean start in 2011.
Police now assert the actress did, in fact, commit battery
against a Betty Ford employee in a Dec. 12 scuffle, and
plan to hand the case over to local prosecutors for review.
"The investigation determined Ms. Lohan violated several
aspects of her probation, including the battery [charge],"
the Palm Desert Police Department said in a press release
Monday, adding that they plan to notify Lindsay's probation
officer.
Lindsay's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, wasn't immediately
available for comment. She was released from rehab Monday
and faces a routine Feb. 25 progress review hearing.
L.A. Superior Court Judge Elden Fox previously warned Lindsay
that any more slip-ups would be met with six months in jail.
As of Tuesday, however, the court still hadn't received formal
notice of the incident.

Bill Erwin Dies...
Bill Erwin, a character actor whose stage and film work spanned
half a century, but who was best known for his Emmy-nominated
turn as a grumpy old man on Seinfeld, has died at 96.
Bill passed away Dec. 29 of age-related causes at his Studio
City, Calif., home, not far from the production lot where
Seinfeld was filmed, his son told the Los Angeles Times.
He enjoyed a long career in movies, theater and particularly
television, taking dozens of roles on shows including Gunsmoke,
The Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, The Golden Girls, Growing Pains,
Who's the Boss? and My Name Is Earl.
But his role as Sid Fields in the 1993 Seinfeld episode "The Old
Man" brought him the most acclaim, along with an Emmy nomination.
Bill was also fondly remembered for his role as Arthur the
bellman in the 1980 fantasy film Somewhere in Time, and
frequently returned to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Mich.,
where the film was set, to celebrate with fans.
Born in Texas in 1914, Bill studied acting at the Pasadena
Playhouse and performed in stage productions around Los Angeles
through the decades.

Manslaughter Hearing Underway for Michael Jackson's Doctor...
Prosecutors began preliminary testimony Tuesday morning against
Conrad Murray, the doctor accused of killing Michael Jackson by
administering a lethal dose of a powerful sedative.
In a courtroom packed with Jackson family members, fans and
reporters, prosecutors said that after Murray realized Michael
had stopped breathing, he waited between nine and 21 minutes
before calling 911, while he covered up evidence that he
improperly administered the powerful anesthetic Propofol to
help Michael sleep.
"In the opinion of medical experts, there were a number of
actions by Dr. Murray that showed an extreme deviation from
the standard of care," Walgren said in court, where Kenny
Ortega, the director of This Is It, also testified.
After approximately two weeks of testimony, Los Angeles
Superior Court Judge Michael E. Pastor will determine whether
there's enough evidence against the cardiologist to order a
jury trial, which could be another year off.
Prosecutors say they will argue that Murray acted with gross
negligence when he administered a lethal amount of Propofol
to Michael on June 25, 2009. Murray's defense attorneys say
they will use the hearing to try to better understand the
prosecution's case.
If convicted of involuntary manslaughter, Murray, 57, could
get four years in prison and lose his medical license. Murray,
who is being held on $75,000 bail, also faces a civil trial
over a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Jackson family.

Pamela Anderson's train terror over fan arrest...
Pamela Anderson was left shaken on Sunday evening when U.K.
police arrested a man who allegedly became violent after
trying to confront the blonde beauty on a train in Liverpool,
England.
The former "Baywatch" star was set to leave Liverpool Lime
Street railway station to travel to London when an overzealous
fan tried to board the same carriage.
British Transport Police officials were alerted and tried to
convince the man to leave, but after the run-in turned nasty,
cops were forced to use pepper spray to restrain the suspect.
Photographs of the incident show four officers carrying the
suspect away from the train while a terrified Pamela looks
on.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said a 21-year-
old was taken into custody "after an altercation took place
in which a police officer was assaulted. The man became
verbally abusive to rail staff (as) he was asked to produce
a ticket. British Transport Police attend(ed) and the man
became violent and assaulted an officer and was arrested.
Officers were forced to use capture spray as the man
resisted arrest."
A representative for the star wrote on Twitter, "Pamela
Anderson is safe and sound on train back to the English
capital. No problems with her safety due to excellent
security personnel."

Kellie Pickler is a newlywed!
After a proposal on the beach last June, the "elated" country
singer, 24, and Kyle Jacobs, 37, eloped, exchanging vows on
Jan. 1, in a "small, intimate ceremony on a private island in
the Caribbean," her rep says.
The couple, who have been dating since 2008, got engaged on
June 15, 2010, when Kyle popped the question on a Florida
beach.
"It was the most spiritual moment." Kellie, who got her start
on American Idol, said of the proposal. "We would've gotten
married that night had there been a preacher walking by!"

Meg Ryan & John Mellencamp Quietly Dating...
The new year brings new beginnings for Meg Ryan and John
Mellencamp.
The pair have spent time together on Martha's Vineyard and in
New York City in recent days, enjoying a fresh romance just
as John has announced his separation from wife Elaine after
18 years of marriage.
A source close to Meg, 49, says the actress and the rock star,
59, began dating about seven weeks ago, and that John and his
wife had been separated for some time before that.
The pair have been spotted having coffee at Espresso Love,
one of Meg's favorite spots on the Vineyard, and grocery
shopping at Gourmet Garage in New York's SoHo neighborhood,
where observers Say they seemed happy and at ease.
"She usually comes in by herself or with her daughter. I
thought that was her husband because they seemed for
comfortable and familiar with each other, just like an old
married couple," one observer says.
John has been married three times and has five children,
including two sons with Elaine.
Meg has been married once, to actor Dennis Quaid. They divorced
in 2001 after 10 years of marriage. They have a son, Jack Henry,
who is 18. Meg also has a daughter, Daisy True, 6, whom she
adopted from China.

Vivica A. Fox Is Engaged...
In true Cougar style, Vivica A. Fox is engaged to Atlanta club
promoter Omar "Slim" White.
Vivica, who starred in the reality show, The Cougar, received
an eight-karat diamond ring from Slim, 27, over the holidays.
"We did get engaged on Dec. 26," Fox reveals. "And we are very
happy!"
"She is over the moon, so excited, so in love," a source close
to Fox says. "She got the ring while they were staying at Ritz-
Carlton, South Beach, over the holidays."
Vivica and Slim, who have been dating more than a year, spent
two romantic nights at the oceanfront hotel where they dined,
went to the gym and walked along the beach.
"Vivica said she has never been happier and looks forward to
living part time in Atlanta where Slim works," the source says.
"She was working out in the gym and had such a look of
happiness and love on her face."
According to the source, Slim is a great guy who wants to have
kids with Vivica.
"They are both eager to start their lives together and have a
family," the source says. "She is so excited; it is
heartwarming to be around her."
This will be Vivica's second marriage. She was divorced from
singer Christopher Harvest in 2002.

It's Katy Perry's Husband Russell Brand...
Russell uploaded the photo to his blog on Saturday morning
after catching his bleary-eyed spouse looking pale after
appearing to have just woken up.
Katy looked unhappy to be caught on camera but that didn't
stop the comedian from showing the photo to his 1.7 million
followers.
Although the picture was soon removed from Russell's account.
It isn't the first time the couple has shared sneaky snaps
with fans online. Russell threatened to post embarrassing
photos on the Internet of his then-fiancee back in May as
revenge after Katy dubbed him a "bridezilla" and showed off
a picture of him wearing a wedding dress.
Russell admitted at the time he was too scared to post
intimate photos of Katy for fear of a backlash.
He said, "I'm trying to think of a way to get revenge. There
are photos of her on my phone that could go nuclear. I'm so
tempted but I feel I'm going to need my testicles for the
future."
The couple married in October.
