A waste management company in Livermore, CA is turning the
methane created by garbage into a clean, alternative fuel.

There are two California landfills making liquefied natural
gas. The Waste Management company's 500 garbage trucks run
on liquid natural gas instead of diesel fuel.

The plant that produces the liquid natural gas is right on
the landfill. There are over a hundred pumps at the landfill
in Livermore that collect the methane to be converted into
liquid gas.
