Soak in water savings.

No need to water throughout the week. One deep soak is best
to strengthen roots. Grass does best with about an inch of
water a week. To make sure your lawn hits the mark measure
the amount by keeping an empty aluminum can in your yard.
And to keep your water bill down even further, restrict
watering to the early morning when water won't be evaporated
by the midday sun.

Get supplies for less.

Forget hitting the nursery for your lawn care needs--instead
make a trip to a farm supply store. The goods are the same,
but the packaging tends to differ. for example; pricey
straw mulch at a garden center is sold as cheap live stock
bedding at a farm outlet, and that means big savings for
you.

Cut it right.

Think cutting the lawn short will save time? It actually can
weaken the roots and encourage the growth of weeds.
