Here's the Scoop...

How does this sound to you? The Jungle Book and Iron Man director Jon Favreau is set to helm a new big-screen version of The Lion King.

"Excited for my next project," Favreau said in a Facebook post Wednesday.

"We can officially confirm that The Walt Disney Studios and director Jon Favreau are putting a new reimagining of The Lion King on the fast track to production," the company said Wednesday. "The project follows the technologically groundbreaking smash hit The Jungle Book, directed by Favreau, which debuted in April and has earned $965.8 million worldwide."

The live-action and animation hybrid re-make of The Lion King will include songs from the beloved 1994 animated movie, which was adapted in 1997 as a Tony-winning stage musical still running on Broadway. Productions of the show are being performed around the world, as well.

Disney and Favreau are also collaborating on a sequel to The Jungle Book.

I thought that Favreau's The Jungle Book was pretty good. This sounds like found money to me.

Be Well,
Steve

Goldie Hawn on Kurt Russell: 'We liked the choice' to never marry
Goldie Hawn says she and longtime partner Kurt Russell made a conscious decision to never marry.

The 70-year-old actress discussed her reluctance to wed the 65-year-old actor while appearing on Monday's episode of the ITV talk show Loose Women.

"[We] would have been long divorced if [we'd] been married," Hawn declared. "Marriage is an interesting, psychological thing. If you need to feel bound to someone, then it's important to be married. If you have independence ... there's something psychological about not being married."

"For me, I chose to stay, [and] Kurt chose to stay, [unmarried]. And we liked the choice," she added "After all these years, you think, 'Why [would we]? It's not working? What is marriage gonna do? What does it promise you?'"

Hawn and Russell, who have been together since 1983 and share 30-year-old Wyatt, were both married prior to their relationship. The actress is also mom to Oliver and Kate Hudson, while Russell is dad to Boston Russell.

"A lasting relationship isn't about marriage," Hawn previously told Porter magazine. "It's about compatibility and communication. And you both need to want it to work. If one person does not want it to work, it isn't going to work."

"It's also about not losing yourself in each other," she added. "Being together, two pillars holding up the house and the roof, and being different, not having to agree on everything, learning how to deal with not agreeing. Everything's a choice."

Hawn will next appear in a new action-comedy with Amy Schumer. Russell, meanwhile, will co-star with Kate Hudson and Mark Wahlberg in Deepwater Horizon, which opens in theaters Friday.

Adele's '25' reaches diamond status with 10M copies sold
Adele's latest album 25 has now reached diamond status, selling 10 million copies in less than a year.

According to Billboard, 25 reached the milestone earlier this month with the songstress receiving a special plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America to celebrate the feat.

The album, released in November of 2015, has stayed a consistent top-seller with hit singles such as "Hello," "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" and "When We Were Young."

In comparison, Adele's previous album 21, released in 2011, is certified diamond with 14 million copies sold while her debut album from 2008, 19, has sold over three million units.

Adele will continue to tour across the United States until Nov. 21 when she wraps up in Phoenix, Ariz.

The 28-year-old last made headlines when she paid tribute to Amy Winehouse on social media during what would have been the late singer's 33rd birthday.

Which celebrity has become the first user to reach 100M followers on Instagram?

Selena Gomez has set another record on Instagram by becoming the first user ever to reach 100 million followers.

According to Billboard, a social media campaign started by her fans with the hashtag #SelenaBreakTheInternet pushed her over the hump after they realized how close she was to the record setting number.

At 100 million followers, Gomez beats out fellow celebrities such as Taylor Swift (91.4 million), Beyonce (85.3 million), Ariana Grande (85 million) and Kim Kardashian (83.6 million).

The feat follows the singer also claiming the most liked photo on Instagram back in July. The image which has now obtained 5.6 million likes, features Gomez drinking from a coke bottle that features the lyrics "You're the Spark" from her song "Me & the Rhythm."

Notably, Gomez has not posted a new photo on Instagram in six weeks, her last being taken during her now canceled Revival tour. Back in August, the 24-year-old announced that she was taking some time off from the spotlight in order to deal with complications related to her Lupus diagnosis including anxiety and depression.

"I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off," she said in a statement at the time.
