Hi Everyone,

WOW...thanks everyone that emailed in to respond to Barbara's
question about using apple vinegar for dandruff. I was over-
whelmed with the number of responses.

Most of the emails sent in said yes vinegar will help, but here
are some other ideas that were suggested: fish oil, Listerine
(1 capful to 5 capfuls of water), and witch hazel.

Hint 1:

I, too have psoriasis and have used Apple Cider vinegar to
rinse my hair. Use enough before you even wet your hair to
dampen your scalp. Let sit a few minutes, shampoo out and
then for the rinse, use just as much as you did to dampen
your hair. Rinse really well, although sometimes I still
smell like vinegar, but the flakes are gone and my scalp
is not itchy. Another product I like to use is a tree tea
oil shampoo and conditioner. It works pretty well, just
don't use the Apple Cider Vinegar with it...Linda

Hint 2:

I have used apple cider vinegar for dandruff or dry scalp.
I have heard of people mixing 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar, but
I use straight vinegar when needed. I pour on my head and
leave in a few minutes, then rinse. I will sometimes follow
up with a mild shampoo to lessen the smell. Oh, btw....if
you've been doing a lot of scatching your scalp it might burn
a little. I'm sure you will get a ton of emails, but I hope
this helps :-) Lori

Here's the best answer for psoriasis/dandruff that I've found.
It's the only one that cleared me up 100%. It has the same
active ingredient as the neutragena shampoo, but I used that
in addition to this stuff and its been months since I had any
psoriasis on my scalp or ears. Its called Psoriacin, I found
it on the web, and it isn't too cheap, but they do give you
free shipping on the first order. I tried everything for my
scalp that you can buy in stores. Nothing worked, but the
neutragena shampoo kept things from getting worse. But the
coal tar ingredient is in both the shampoo and the Psoriacin,
and I put it on twice a day: after shampooing in the morning
and then again a little before bedtime. It took about 4-5 weeks
to clear things up completely, and although I bought a second
bottle to have on hand after I used up the first one, I haven't
needed it...Jerry
