Report: Lindsay Lohan was paid $2M for OWN reality show

The Oprah Winfrey Network is paying troubled actress Lindsay Lohan about $2 million to star in an 8-part docu-series, TMZ said. The cable network negotiated with Lohan for about four months before reaching a deal to document her efforts to remain sober and revive her flagging career once she leaves rehab next month. As part of her contract, OWN will also provide Lohan with two paid assistants and a stylist, TMZ said. Lohan, 27, was court-ordered to spend 90 days in rehab as part of her conviction for reckless driving and lying to police. She checked into the Betty Ford Center May 3 but reportedly was unhappy with her treatment there and requested a transfer to another facility, which was approved last month. The "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star's once-bright career has been eclipsed in recent years by her battles with drug and alcohol addiction, motor vehicle offenses and legal woes. She was most recently seen in a guest role on Charlie Sheen's sitcom, "Anger Management."

Randy Travis is awake, alert after stroke and surgery

Randy Travis' doctor says the U.S. country music star's health is improving following treatment for a stroke, cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. People.com quoted Dr. Gary Erwin of the Baylor Health Care System as saying Monday the hospitalized musician's overall condition has stabilized. Erwin said Travis is "awake and alert, interacting with his family and friends and beginning to start doing some early physical therapy." Travis is breathing with the help of a ventilator but hospital staff "hope to have him weaned off of that very soon," Erwin said. The 54-year-old recording artist underwent an operation last week at the Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano, Texas, to control the swelling on his brain caused by a stroke, a complication of congestive heart failure. Before the stroke, doctors said Travis was showing signs of improvement. Travis last month completed his court-ordered rehab stemming from a 2012 drunken driving arrest and was touring again when he was struck down by pneumonia, which led to complications of viral cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure.

Stranded Dave Matthews gets a ride to concert from fan

A Dave Matthews fan said she will never forget the Pennsylvania concert that started with her giving the stranded musician a lift. Emily Kraus said she and her boyfriend were running late for the Saturday concert in Hershey when they spotted a man who strongly resembled Dave Matthews at the side of the road with a flat bike tire, CNN reported Monday. The couple pulled over and discovered the stranded man was indeed Matthews, who had gone out for a pre-show bike ride without his cellphone. Kraus said she had a bike rack on her car, so Matthews joined them on the ride to the stadium. She said they talked about his tour and his daughter's summer camp. "We didn't know how to make conversation with him," Kraus said. The couple's kindness resulted in Matthews inviting them for dinner, bringing them backstage and upgrading their tickets to front row seats. "My cheeks still hurt from smiling, giggling and laughing all night long ... this will always be remembered," Kraus said. Matthews thanked Kraus during his set at Hersheypark Stadium. "I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle... And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig," he said.
