Hello Everyone...

The Beatles have had their songs covered close to millions of times. In fact, 'Yesterday' happens to be the most covered song in history. That being said, my favorite cover song happens to be performed, in part, by Mr. Beatle himself, John Lennon. During that crazy time post-Beatles, Lennon hung out with such greats as drummer Mitch Mitchell, Keith Richards, and Eric Clapton. They called themselves the Dirty Mac (which I believe referred to English slang for raincoats). They only performed a handful of times, and were televised performing Lennon's Yer Blues, which appeared on the White Album.

The song is AWESOME and much more energetic and uptempo than the album version. Lennon sings with more passion, and Clapton's solo is inspiring. Mitch Mitchell (of the Jimi Hendrix Experience) provides intricate and crisp drumbeats that overwhelm Ringo's on the original. All in all, this cover is far superior to the album version.

I have to inform my readers that contained within this ten minute video is the musical travesty known as Yoko Ono. I strongly recommend stopping the video at 5:10, when their main song finishes. If you are so inclined to subject your ears to high-pitched torture, continue on with the sounds of Yoko's yodeling wails that seem to come out of nowhere. She seems rightfully unappreciated by the other band members.
