Patti LaBelle hit with lawsuit...

Soul star Patti LaBelle has been accused of hurling verbal abuse at a woman and her young child in a new lawsuit.

Roseanna Monk claims the singer took issue with her for letting her toddler daughter Genevieve loose in the lobby of an apartment building in New York last November.

Patti, who was starring in Broadway musical "Fela!" at the time of the reported incident, is said to have thrown water from a bottle at Monk before allegedly hurling abuse at her.

Monk and her husband Kevin subsequently filed a complaint with police but no arrests were made - and now they have launched a lawsuit over the drama after LaBelle allegedly refused to apologize.

In the papers, filed at Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, the couple is seeking unspecified damages, according to reports.

Their lawyer, Samuel L. Davis, says the Monks feel "someone's got to teach her. Even a diva can't attack and frighten regular people in the building."

It is the latest legal drama for Patti - earlier this year, she was sued by a U.S. cadet, Richard King, who accused the star's bodyguard and hairdresser of attacking him at Bush International Airport in Houston, Texas.

The "Lady Marmalade" hitmaker subsequently filed a countersuit against King.

Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner split...

Actress Heather Locklear and her fiance Jack Wagner have broken off their brief engagement.

Heather began dating her former "Melrose Place" co-star in 2007 and they announced plans to wed in August.

However, the couple has since decided to end its engagement and Heather was snapped without her diamond ring on Monday as she attended "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" premiere in Hollywood.

A representative for Heather says, "Jack and Heather are no longer engaged."

The stars were last seen together in September as they celebrated Heather's 50th birthday in Hawaii.

She has been married twice before - she was Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee's wife from 1986 to 1994, and she divorced Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora, the father of her teenage daughter Ava, in 2007.

Bieber's Paternity Suit Dropped...

Oh, baby - the paternity lawsuit against Justin Bieber has been dropped, according to a report.

The suit, which alleged that Justin fathered a child with 20-year-old fan Mariah Yeater, was dismissed last week, says TMZ.com. Her lawyers reportedly withdrew from the case following a call from Justin's lawyer, Howard Weitzman, threatening legal action.

The case was set to go to court Dec. 15, and Justin, 17, was prepared to take a paternity test to prove he was not the father of Mariah's 3-month-old baby.

Mariah, who was seeking financial support, may have also faced statutory rape charges. (In the state of California, the age of consent is 18, and Justin would have been 16 at that time of the alleged sexual encounter, according to Mariah's accusation.)

"It's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims," a rep for Justin previously said in a statement. "We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

In the suit, Mariah alleged that Justin, who is currently dating fellow pop star Selena Gomez, lost his virginity to her backstage at an L.A. tour stop.

But Justin was adamant about drowning out "the rumors" and "the gossip" from the get-go, he previously Tweeted.

"I know that I'm going to be a target," he said two days after the suit was filed, "but I'm never going to be a victim."

Connie Britton Adopts a Baby Boy...

For years, Connie Britton has been hard at work on her acclaimed show Friday Night Lights and most recently on the new hit American Horror Story.

But Connie, 44, has just been cast in her most rewarding role yet: Mom. She's adopted a 9-month-old baby boy from Ethiopia.

After a three-year-long adoption process, the actress's dream of motherhood came true about a week ago, after she returned from the African country with her son Yoby - a nickname for Eyob, his given name.

"I am thanking my lucky stars every day," Connie, 44, says.

The day she first held her son in her arms was something the new mom will never forget.

"It was such a wonderful moment of completion," she says. "I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears. I was just grinning from ear to ear."

It's Megan Fox...

"Megan was very nervous and excited about her performance," a source reveals. "As a non-drinker, she said she had taken some Chinese Herbs that helped take the edge off."

Megan showed no signs of nervousness when she shared the stage with Priest's Paul Bettany, comedienne Sarah Silverman and 30 Rock star Jack McBrayer. Tracy Morgan also surprised the audience when he "made a special appearance dressed as a bunny."

"Megan had one line that she was a rabbit, but what she really wanted to be was a computer programmer," the Broadway source says. "The line was a direct result of the orientation the night before, where actors are asked to say one fun fact about themselves. Megan said she was a kick ass Halo player, so the writer wrote it into the script."
