Hint 1:

Keep the mess down while you cook isn't that hard. If your
recipe calls for sifting flour or shredding cheese do it
directly onto a paper plate. Then, to transfer the ingredients
to a bowl or pan, bend the plate slightly and pour away. This
eliminates spilling and makes for easy toss-away cleanup.

Hint 2:

Clean your pets dish fast...when pet food gets dry, it often
sticks to the dish and is hard to wash out. Solve the problem
by spritzing the bowl with nonstick cooking spray (it's safe
for pets) before putting in the food. You'll be able to clean
the dish in a flash.
