Pop superstar Cher has assured fans she is alive and well after an Internet hoax suggested she had passed away.
False news of the singer's death hit Twitter on Friday and the prank managed to fool a number of celebrity fans including socialite Kim Kardashian, who wrote, "Did I just hear Cher has passed away? Is this real? OMG (oh my God)... I hope this is a Twitter joke and not true. I don't see it on the news anywhere. I'm praying its (sic) not true...â?
The rumors soon reached Cher herself and the singer was so amused by the story, she even joked about writing a song called RIP for her new album.
She told fans, "Well here I am Tweeting from the HereAfter! It's very blue up here & thank God they gave me a view of the sea, palm trees & a Balinese house... Lovelies. I'm not going anywhere till I finish this fkng (sic) album! The only RIP I know how 2 (sic) do is 'Rip it up! Kick a** & take no prisoners!... Just had great idea... I'm going to ask (my songwriter) to write a song 4 (sic) album! 'RIP'."

Kardashian to guest star on 'Drop Dead Diva'...
Kim Kardashian is swapping reality TV for a recurring role in hit comedy "Drop Dead Diva."
The brunette beauty has made her name starring in a series of fly-on-the-wall shows alongside her sisters Khloe and Kourtney, as well as the rest of the Kardashian clan.
Now she has landed her first major TV acting job with a recurring guest part on the Lifetime network show, about an airhead aspiring model who is reincarnated as a plus-sizedlawyer after she is killed in a car crash.
In a post on her Twitter, she writes, "So excited to announce that I'll be guest starring on Drop Dead Diva Season 4 this summer!!"
Kim will play Nikki, a love interest for the show's Fred, played by Ben Feldman. She will make her debut in the summer.
The star has previously enjoyed small roles in 2008's "Disaster Movie" and 2009's "Beyond the Break," and has appeared as herself on "How I Met Your Mother" and "90210."

Demi Moore was having convulsions at her Los Angeles home on Monday night, according to an edited version of the 911 call placed by her friend.
The "Ghost" star was hospitalized after paramedics were called to her house near Benedict Canyon and on Tuesday she checked into a treatment facility for exhaustion. She reportedly checked out of the center on Thursday.
On Friday, officials released the recording of the frantic 911 call after deleting drug references to protect Demi's privacy. However, the tape still provides new insight into the events, which unfolded shortly before her health crisis.
According to the tape, the female caller can be heard saying, "She smoked something. It's not marijuana, but it's similar to it. It's similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort. She's semi-conscious, barely. She's convulsing. She's shaking, convulsing, burning up."
Demi recently split from her husband of six years Ashton Kutcher and the actor was snapped touching down at a Los Angeles airport on Thursday after spending several days in Brazil.

Lindsay Lohan has been hit with a lawsuit stemming from allegations she drove her car into a nanny pushing a baby stroller and then failed to stop.
In September 2010, videographer Brayan Jaime claimed he filmed the Lindsay reportedly running a red traffic light in Los Angeles and colliding with a woman pushing a pram. She was then accused of fleeing the scene in her car.
The child wasn't injured, but the nanny involved in the alleged incident, Nubia Del Carmen Preza, is now suing the actress.
She filed papers at Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday claiming to have suffered "disabling and serious personal injuries, pain, suffering and anguish."
The suit is seeking unspecified damages, according to reports.

Miley Cyrus has come under fire from conservative campaigners after she was photographed posing suggestively with a phallic birthday cake.
The former child star hit headlines this week after pictures from her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth's 22nd birthday party emerged online.
The snaps showed Miley posing suggestively with Liam's phallic-shaped chocolate cake, and the pictures have infuriated activists at the Culture and Media Institute (CMI) who claim the singer/actress could have a negative influence on easily-swayed teens.
A statement from the CMI, also condemns saucy new comedy movie "The Bachelorette," which stars Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher as three foul-mouthed females attending a friend's pre-wedding party.
The statement reads, "Movies like 'Bachelorette' and disgusting behavior like Miley's may be part of the 'real world' of Hollywood, where casual sex is celebrated and frequent divorce is almost a nite of passage. But it is not the real world, because in the real world, sleazy behavior has consequences."

It's Paris Hilton...
The socialite released her debut album, Paris, in 2006 and it reached number six on the Billboard 200 chart.
Paris is aiming to relaunch her pop career with a second record and she has been working with stars including LMFAO and producer/DJ Afrojack. She has now revealed she has also persuaded rapper Snoop Dogg to lend his talents to the project.
She comments, "I'm doing my new album, and Afrojack is actually executive-producing the entire thing. There are a lot of very cool collaborations on my album. It should be out in the next few months. We just finished doing my single with LMFAO, then I'm recording with Snoop Dogg."
