Kara DioGuardi Is Leaving American Idol...

After weeks of speculation about whether she will stay or go,
Kara DioGuardi is leaving American Idol, Fox announced Friday.

Kara?s move follows the departures of both longtime Idol judge
Simon Cowell and new judge Ellen DeGeneres.

?I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two
years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave Idol,?
said Kara Friday. ?I am very proud to have been associated
with American Idol ? it has truly been an amazing experience.?

The show?s creator and executive producer Simon Fuller said of
Kara, who is one of the music world?s most high-profile
songwriters, ?I will miss having her on the show, but I look
forward to working with her in music for many years to come.?

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are widely rumored to be in
the running to be new judges on the show. Other celeb names
that have been rumored as possibilities to fill the judges?
table include Shania Twain, Elton John, Chris Isaak and Harry
Connick Jr.

Although he was mum about the makeup of the judges panel,
producer Nigel Lythgoe, who is back working on American Idol,
tells about the next season, ?We will be bringing the
spotlight back onto the talent and away from the judges. I
think that?s really very important, especially when you lose
such a superb judge as Simon Cowell. You need to move the
spotlight off him very quickly! But in truth, we?ve
forgotten that it?s the talent that drives the program at
the end of the day.?

Did Lindsay Lohan Hit a Baby Stroller with Her Car?...

Lindsay Lohan says she's back on the straight and narrow, but
reports have surfaced that the troubled star may have hit a
stroller while driving her Maserati.

That's what witnesses claim, reporting that Lindsay made a
turn without looking both ways and ran into a woman pushing
a toddler in a stroller across the street.

"It wasn't super hard, but she made impact and hit them,"
one witness is quoted as saying. "Lindsay pulled to the
right, stopped for two seconds, and then just kept going."
According to the witnesses, the woman was shaken but
didn't seem seriously hurt. The child was crying.

However, two other witnesses say that Lindsay never touched
the stroller, and instead sped past the woman and child.
The toddler was already crying before the Mean Girls star
drove past them, according to the sources.

Reps for Lindsay say the story is completely fabricated.

A few days before, on Aug. 28, Lindsay had been pulled over
by police in West Hollywood after she ran a stop sign, but
the officer let her off with a warning after she apparently
blamed the incident on the paparazzi.

Kutcher considers suing Star magazine for defamation...

Ashton Kutcher is threatening to sue the editors of a tabloid
for defamation following an article they published suggesting
he had been cheating on his wife Demi Moore.

The actor took aim at a Star magazine report that his five-
year marriage was "in danger of falling apart" following the
"bombshell news" that he was "caught cheating with a sexy,
young 20-something."

Ashton took to Twitter earlier this week to address the scandal,
writing, "STAR magazine, you don't get to stand behind 'freedom
of the press' when you are writing fiction."

And now he's considering taking legal steps.

In a new Twitter.com post, Ashton writes, "I think Star magazine
calling me a 'cheater' qualifies as defamation of character. I
hope my lawyer agrees."

Demi has yet to respond to the article, but she posted a look-
at-me bikini photo on her own Twitter account on Wednesday,
suggesting her husband has no need to stray.

Chris Klein Completes Four Days in Jail...

Chris Klein has owned up to his mistakes.

The actor has served 96 hours behind bars on his own accord
for his second drunk-driving arrest and has also completed
two months in a live-in rehab facility.

Chris personally appeared Friday in a Van Nuys, Calif., court
where he pleaded no contest to DUI and was sentenced to four
years' probation, fines and an 18-month alcohol education class.

"I apologize for my wrongdoing and I really appreciate that
the court gave me the opportunity to prove how seriously I
took all of this," Chris told Judge David B. Gelfound.

The actor faced a mandatory minimum of four days in jail for
the repeat offense, and served his time in a private city
jail. He must also install an ignition interlock device on
his car that will prevent the engine from starting if alcohol
is detected on his breath.

His attorney, Blair Berk said, "Chris took immediate
responsibility for what he did and has used this experience
in such a positive way to get help to confront an addiction
to alcohol. He deserves enormous credit for stepping up and
getting it done."

The American Pie actor was arrested on June 16 after he was
spotted weaving on a Los Angeles freeway.

He was previously arrested in Feb. 2005 for the same offense.

Kaitlin Olson, Rob McElhenney Welcome a Son...

There'll be a new regular on the set of It's Always Sunny in
Philadelphia this fall.

Costars Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney welcomed their first
child, son Axel Lee McElhenney, at 12:52 p.m. on Wednesday,
Sept. 1 at their California home.

He weighed in at 8 lbs., 7 oz.

"I went into labor at the Phillies/Dodgers game on Tuesday
night," says Olson. "As soon as Ryan Howard hit a three-run
homerun, we felt comfortable leaving to go have our baby. We
love him like crazy, even though he made us miss the second
half of the game."

The couple, who married in Sept. 2008 in Malibu, announced the
pregnancy in March.

"Rob and I are so excited it's stupid," Olson, 35, said at the
time. "The last couple years have been pretty amazing for us
and just when we thought things couldn't get anybetter, the
greatest little thing in the world happened! We're totally
beside ourselves."

The FX cult comedy hit, which McElhenney created and executive
produces, will return for its sixth season on Sept. 16.

Brooks & Dunn perform final concert...

Country icons Brooks & Dunn ended their onstage partnership after
19 years on Thursday night by performing the song that shot them
to fame at a charity concert in Nashville, Tenn.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn brought their long-running career to
an end during the final stop on their Last Rodeo Tour at the
country music mecca's Bridgestone Arena, and the pair delighted
fans at the sold out gig by running through their vast collection
of hit songs, including "My Maria," "Red Dirt Road" and "Neon Moon."

They were joined onstage by Reba McEntire, their only guest
vocalist, during the track "Cowgirls Don't Cry," and the duo kept
the night lighthearted, joking about the reasons for their split
throughout the concert.

Early on in their set, Brooks told the audience, "This isn't a
funeral. We did show up to party."

And they had fans on their feet as they closed out the show with
an encore of their 1991 debut "Brand New Man," with Brooks paying
special tribute to the band's loyal devotees.

He said, "Most importantly, to the people who paid our rent for
the last 20 years, all I can say is, thanks."

The concert doubled as a fundraiser for the Country Music Hall
of Fame and Museum.

The stars are both set to relaunch their respective solo careers
following the break-up.

*-*-* GUESS WHO *-*-*-

This actress has sunk her teeth into the "Twilight" movies,
insisting the final "Harry Potter" films will not be
"selling sex" like the vampire franchise...

It's Emma Watson...

The "Harry Potter" phenomenon has a fierce competitor in
the bloodsucking movie series, which was also adapted from
a book and has attracted a cult following.

And although Emma admits her kissing scene with co-star
Rupert Grint boosts "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"
racy credentials, she is adamant it won't rely on romance
like its neck-biting rival.

She says, "This kiss between Hermione and Ron is highly
anticipated, it's been building up for eight films now.
And Harry Potter is not 'Twilight,' you know; we're not
selling sex.

"So, whenever there is any hint of that, everybody gets
terribly excited. In fact, it was horribly awkward; we
couldn't stop laughing."
