Josh Hartnett Regrets Not Playing Batman in 'The Dark Knight'...
Josh Hartnett regrets not playing Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy of films.

The 36-year-old actor said as much in an interview with Playboy published Thursday. Director Christopher Nolan offered Hartnett the iconic superhero role, but the star turned the opportunity down to spend time with his friends and family.

"I've definitely said no to some of the wrong people," he confessed. "That's frowned upon in this industry. People don't like being told no. I don't like it. I learned my lesson when Christopher Nolan and I talked about Batman. I decided it wasn't for me. Then he didn't want to put me in The Prestige."

Christian Bale was cast as Batman in Batman Begins (2005), and went on to star in sequels The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises and The Prestige. Hartnett, meanwhile, took on such projects as Sin City with Jessica Alba and Lucky Number Slevin with Lucy Liu.

Hartnett currently stars as Ethan Chandler on Showtime series Penny Dreadful, which will premiere a second season May 3. The actor is also scheduled for drama film Wild Horses, with Robert Duvall as writer, director and co-star.


Vivien Leigh's 'Gone With the Wind' Gown Fetches $137,000 At Auction...
A frock actress Vivien Leigh wore in the classic film Gone With the Wind was sold this weekend for $137,000, Heritage Auctions announced.

Leigh, who played the iconic 19th-century heroine Scarlett O'Hara, was seen wearing the two-piece, slate blue-grey ensemble in four pivotal scenes of the 1939 American Civil War epic. The outfit also features black zig-zag appliqué and cord adornment on the collar, shoulders, front and cuffs, and nine decorative buttons on the front of the top.

The costume was sold as part of The James Tumblin Gone With the Wind collection, which also included props, tools and an extra's costumes used in the making of the movie, as well as drawings, paintings, posters and letters belonging or related to people involved with the film.

The big-screen adaptation of Margaret Mitchell's bestseller was directed by Victor Fleming and co-starred Clark Gable, Leslie Howard, Hattie McDaniel and Olivia de Havilland. It won 10 Oscars, including the awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Leigh and Best Supporting Actress for McDaniel.

'Good Times' actor Alton A. 'Ben' Powers Dead at 64...
Actor Alton A. "Ben" Powers has died in New Bedford, Mass. He was 64.

His death was reported his April 6 death on Saturday, but the cause was not disclosed.

The New York-born actor was raised in Providence, R.I., where he attended the Rhode Island School of Design before becoming a standup comedian and actor, perhaps best known for his roles on the 1970s sitcom Good Times and 1980s mystery series The New Mike Hammer.

His other small-screen credits include Laugh-In, Gimme a Break, Laverne & Shirley, The New Odd Couple and The Greatest American Hero. He also appeared in the movies Cheech & Chong's Next Movie, Things Are Tough All Over and The Man Who Loved Women.

A memorial service in his honor is planned for May 3 in Providence.


Justin Timberlake Shares Photo Of Son Silas...
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have shared the first photo of their newborn son, Silas Randall Timberlake, who was born April 11.

Timberlake, 34, took to Instagram on Sunday to post a picture of his wife and son in their Memphis Grizzlies gear.

"The Timberlakes are ready!!! GO GRIZZ! #GritNGrind #Playoffs #BabyGrizzROAR," Timberlake captioned the photo.

Timberlake, who is a minority owner of the Grizzlies, and Biel are reportedly planning to raise their son in Montana, away from the celebrity limelight.

It's Dakota Fanning... "I've made my peace with [that fact]," she says in Nylon magazine's May issue, "I have this joke that I'm literally going to be 35, married, and pregnant and people are still going to say, 'Oh my god, you grew up so fast! I can't believe it!'"

She admits she still gets frustrated when her coming of age still surprises people... almost two decades since her 2002 role in 'I am Sam'. "But I'm OK with it. I know who I am, " she says.

When it comes to life after child-stardom, Fanning, 21, holds herself together well. She tells Nylon, "I might not be running around being insane, but I'm also a 21-year-old who likes to be silly. Just because I don't flaunt those parts of my life doesn't mean I don't do some of that privately."
