Gwyneth Paltrow is taking her first steps into the music
industry. The actress is preparing to release her debut
record.
Gwyneth plays a country music singer in her upcoming film
"Country Strong," opposite real life music star Tim McGraw
and actress/singer Leighton Meester.
She recently admitted her husband, Coldplay rocker Chris
Martin, taught her to play guitar for the film, has
recorded the title track and she has now been tipped for
chart success as movie bosses prepare to release the song
as a single.
"Country Strong," which features backing vocals from Vince
Gill and Patty Griffin, will be released on August 23.

Jon and Kate Gosselin settle custody battle...
Former reality TV couple, Jon and Kate Gosselin have settled
their lengthy custody battle.
The "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" stars divorced last year after
10 years of marriage and have since been locked in a bitter
war over who will care for their eight kids, with Jon
filing documents in April seeking primary custody.
Now the former couple has reached a settlement agreement over
both custody and financial obligations, but the terms have
been kept confidential.
A source says, "An official agreement between Jon and Kate
has been reached and they will be working together for the
benefit of their children."

Gibson Requests Unbiased 'Observer' for Baby Visits...
Mel Gibson isn't taking any chances.
As the custody battle with his ex-girlfriend Oksana over their
9-month-old daughter Lucia rages on, Melrecently requested
that an independent observer accompany his visits with Lucia.
Although the move was not requested by the court, Mel was eager
for an unbiased set of eyes to witness his interactions with
the child, the source says, so that "Oksana couldn't lie."
The observer, who has family law-related credentials and was
approved by Department of Children and Family Services, was
present this weekend when Mel and Lucia hung out on the grounds
of Mel?s church.
"[The chapel] is a safe place for them to be together, run
around, have fun and play," says a pal.
A source close to Oksana confirmed there's a monitor and she
"has not expressed an opinion on that one way or the other."
Mel is allowed unsupervised visits with Lucia, but voluntarily
requested the monitor during the all-out custody war and legal
battle that includes allegations of domestic violence,
extortion and child endangerment.

Hulk Hogan's ex engaged to 21-year-old boyfriend...
The former wife of wrestler-turned actor and reality TV star
Hulk Hogan is to wed her young boyfriend.
Hogan and his wife Linda began divorce proceedings in 2007,
putting an end to their 24-year marriage and 56-year-old
Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, went on to propose to his
36-year-old girlfriend Jennifer McDaniel.
And now sources close to his ex-wife Linda, 50, have revealed
she plans to wed her boyfriend of two years, 21-year-old
Charlie Hill.
The couple will wed next summer.

The Bachelor's Melissa Rycroft Is Pregnant...
Melissa Rycroft is going from ballroom to baby.
The former Dancing with the Stars and Bachelor contestant is
expecting her first child with husband Tye Strickland.
"Apparently Tye and I wanted to see how many life-changing
events we could fit into one calendar year," Melissa said,
while sharing her news Wednesday on Good Morning America,
"from getting engaged, married, new job, and we are now
pregnant." The reality star also joked that right now she
has a "baby pooch," though "the baby bump will come later."
Melissa, 27, and Tye, an insurance agent, tied the knot in
December in Mexico.
In addition to starting a family, Melissa's other upcoming
project will include co-hosting the upcoming reality series
Bachelor Pad with Chris Harrison.

Lawyer: Lohan Wants Time with Family Before Rehab...
With less than a week left in jail, Lindsay Lohan is now
thinking and worrying about what comes next: her mandatory
three months in rehab.
"She?s a little upset right now," her attorney Shawn Chapman
Holley said after visiting the actress Tuesday. "She'd like
to spend some time with her family, and there?s at least
some question as to whether or not she?ll have to go directly
to rehab."
Prosecutors confirmed Tuesday that Lindsay must report to
an L.A.-based residential rehab facility 24 hours after her
release from jail, which likely will be Sunday or Monday,
but her attorney is concerned "there's a push now for her
to go directly to rehab from jail."
"I think it would only be fair for her to spend some time with
her family and that?s what she?d like for me to emphasize to
the judge," says Holley.
Lindsay has been jailed at the women's facility in Lynwood,
Calif., since July 20 for a 90-day sentence for violating
probation in a DUI case. Her term is being reduced due to
overcrowding.

Katy admits she was too poor to take her dental hygiene
seriously when she was a child, but Britney Spears
videos made her start brushing religiously, and now she's
proud of her minty fresh breath and shining smile.
In a new YouTube.com interview, she says, "I brush my
teeth all the time. I wanted them to be, like, Britney
Spears-white. I used to grow up seeing her music videos
and be like, 'What does she do? Does she get a new set
of teeth all the time? They're so white.'
"I'm really anal about that because I like good breath. A
turn off for me with guys is, like, halitosis... I'm the
kind of friend that's like, 'Stick a piece of gum in your
mouth, 'cos I'm gonna save some friendships for you.'
"I'll brush my teeth (after) breakfast, lunch and dinner...
I did have 13 cavities at one time, so you can imagine why
I'm so freaked out. When I was a kid I didn't really go to
the dentist a lot... and when I finally went, they were
like, 'You might as well get a new set of teeth'."
But, despite all her efforts, Katy fears she'll never have
the perfect smile.
She explains, "I have really jacked-up bottom teeth and I
went to dentist to try and get it fixed... Thank God my
lower lip covers my top lip... I don't grin from ear to
ear because I'm embarrassed."
