Ringo is back! Ringo Starr's next album will feature collaborations with Paul McCartney, Richard Marx and more.

Give More Love, the 19th solo album of Ringo Starr, will be released by UMe on digital and CD formats Sept. 15, with vinyl to follow Sept. 22.

"Recorded at Ringo's home studio in Los Angeles, Give More Love has 10 new tracks featuring collaborations with friends including: 'We're on the Road Again' featuring Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter and Steve Lukather; 'Laughable' co-written and performed with Peter Frampton as well as Benmont Tench, Timothy B. Schmit, Richard Page and Amy Keys; 'Show Me the Way' co-written and performed with Steve Lukather and with Paul McCartney; 'Speed of Sound' co-written with Richard Marx and featuring Steve Lukather, Peter Frampton and Nathan East; 'Standing Still' co-written with Gary Burr; 'King of the Kingdom' including performances by Dave Stewart and Edgar Winter; 'Electricity' co-written with Glen Ballard and featuring Joe Walsh and Don Was; 'So Wrong For So Long' co-written and performed with Dave Stewart; 'Shake It Up' co-written and performed with Gary Nicholson and including Don Was and Edgar Winter; and 'Give More Love' co-written with Gary Nicholson including Timothy B. Schmit and All Starrs Richard Page and Gregg Bissonette," a press release said.

Starr is scheduled to start touring the United States again in October with his All Starrs, which also includes Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie and Warren Hamm.

The former Beatle planned to mark his 76th birthday with family, fans and friends by engaging in a massive "Peace and Love" demonstration in front of the Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.

Joan Lee, wife of comic book icon Stan Lee, dead at 93
Joan Lee, wife of Marvel comics icon Stan Lee, has died at the age of 93.

"I can confirm the sad news that Joan Lee passed away this morning quietly and surrounded by her family," a spokesperson for Stan said in a statement. "The family ask that you please give them time to grieve and respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Joan suffered a stroke recently and was hospitalized, noted The Hollywood Reporter citing sources.

Joan, a former British hat model, married Stan on Dec. 5, 1947. Together they had two children, J.C. (Joan Celia) in 1950 and Jan, who died three days after her birth in 1953.

Stan has credited Joan for helping inspire the Fantastic Four, the writer's first hit comic book at Marvel, that led to the creations of the company's cast of signature characters including the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and the X-Men with Jack Kirby, and Spider-Man and Doctor Strange with Steve Ditko.

Marvel comics shared their condolences in a statement, writing, "We are so saddened to hear about the loss of Joan Lee. We lost a member of the Marvel family today and our thoughts and prayers go out to Stan and his daughter Joan in this difficult time."

DC comics also paid tribute to Joan by describing how Stan met the love of his life. "Of all the great stories Stan Lee has to tell, the most touching is of the day he met Joan, the British model who would become his future wife. Instantly smitten, Stan proposed the first day of their meeting, beginning a beautiful, enviable life together for nearly seven decades. Everyone at DC is truly saddened to hear of the passing of Joan Lee and our hearts go out to Stan and his family in this time of loss," DC comics wrote on Twitter.


John Carpenter working on 'Tales for a Halloween Night' series for Syfy
Universal Cable Productions says it has made a development deal with horror titan John Carpenter.

The 69-year-old filmmaker's work includes Halloween, The Thing and Escape from New York.

Carpenter has agreed to executive produce scripted programming with UCP for the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment portfolio, as well as for external networks and streaming services, along with his producing partner, Sandy King, under their Storm King Productions banner, the company said in a press release Thursday.

"John Carpenter is an incredible creator whose dark imagination has left an indelible mark in film and in our dreams," Dawn Olmstead, executive vice president of development at UCP, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to have a master of the horror genre join UCP."

"I'm excited to partner with Universal Cable Productions on this venture into television. On one hand it's a return home to Universal where I have fond memories, and on the other it's a step into the future with great new creative partners in programming," added Carpenter.

UCP and Carpenter are already working on a series called Tales for a Halloween Night for Syfy, as well as Nightside, an adaptation of Simon R. Green's books.

Jon Stewart to co-host 'SportsCenter' for Warrior Games
Jon Stewart is set to co-host ESPN's SportsCenter alongside anchor Hannah Storm Friday for the conclusion of the Department of Defense's Warrior Games.

A Paralympics-style event, the Warrior Games features 256 seriously injured or ill service members and veterans from all branches of the military competing in a number of sporting events including swimming, archery, cycling and sitting volleyball.

Service members and veterans from the United Kingdom and Australian militaries are also competing.

"We ask an awful lot of the veteran community. The least we can do in return is support them when they're home," the former Daily Show host said while speaking with the Chicago Tribune."If a shot-put falls in the forest, does it make a sound? It'd be nice if it made a sound."

The Warrior Games which began June 30 and continues until Friday, is taking place at Solider Field in Chicago.

"It's a thrill for me not just to be a part of the Warrior games but also to work with someone who's one of the best-known hosts in the television industry and such a great talent," said Storm in a statement about hosting SportsCenter with Stewart during the Warrior Games. "I've always been a fan of (Stewart's) work, and he's so involved and so passionate about this cause."

After hosting SportsCenter staring at 7 p.m., Stewart will then do a live interview from the event starting at 11 p.m.


Angela Lansbury, Michael Gambon land roles in BBC's 'Little Women'
Angela Lansbury and Michael Gambon have signed on to star in the upcoming, television adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's novel, Little Women.

The ensemble for the three-part miniseries -- which was written by Heidi Thomas -- will also include Emily Watson, Willa Fitzgerald, Annes Elwy, Kathryn Newton and Jonah Hauer-King.

Director Vanessa Caswill is scheduled to start principal photography on the project this month in Ireland. The BBC One series is a collaboration with the Playground production company and Masterpiece on PBS.

"Loved by generations worldwide, Little Women is a truly universal coming-of-age story, as relevant and engaging today as it was when originally published in 1868," a press release noted. "Set against the backdrop of a country divided, the story follows the four sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March on their journey from childhood to adulthood. With the help of their mother Marmee, while their father is away at war the girls navigate what it means to be a young woman -- from gender roles to sibling rivalry, first love, loss and marriage."

Lansbury will play the girls' wealthy Aunt March, while Gambon will portray their benevolent neighbor Mr. Laurence.

Caitlyn Jenner has been booked to guest co-host the chat show The View July 13-14.

Actress Mischa Barton is also scheduled to be interviewed about her lawsuit against a former boyfriend regarding an unauthorized sex tape on July 14.

Season 20 of ABC's The View stars moderator Whoopi Goldberg and panelists Joy Behar, Paula Faris, Sara Haines, Jedediah Bila and Sunny Hostin.

Jenner, 67, is an Olympic runner and reality TV star who was born Bruce Jenner and publicly transitioned to Caitlyn in 2015 after fathering six children, including media personalities Brandon, Brody, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Caitlyn Jenner is also the former stepfather of celebrities Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian.
