Here's the Scoop...

I've just been trying to get the most out of summer before it's over. The weather has been so nice that I just had to get out of the house. In doing so, I've kind of fallen behind in my TV viewing and getting to the movies.

Please enjoy hearing some of the buzz from Hollywood. Now, I'm going to see what's on my DVR.

Be Well,
Anisa

Caitlyn Jenner may face manslaughter charge in deadly crash
A deadly four-vehicle crash on California's Pacific Coast Highway in February may earn Caitlyn Jenner a criminal charge for manslaughter, officials said Thursday.

A woman died on the highway on Feb. 7 when a Cadillac sport-utility vehicle driven by Jenner rear-ended another vehicle, and triggered a chain reaction of collisions, authorities said.

An investigation has determined that Jenner was driving too fast when she hit the other vehicle, officials said.

The California Highway Patrol said 69-year-old Kim Howe died in the crash when her vehicle was hit head-on by a Hummer SUV.

Investigators say Jenner could potentially face a misdemeanor manslaughter charge. A district attorney will determine whether to pursue the charge.

"There's no felony here because I don't believe that any of her conduct rises to the level of gross negligence and I don't believe it would be filed as a misdemeanor because I don't believe her conduct can be said to have been reckless or even ordinary negligence or what an average person would or wouldn't do in that same scenario," defense attorney Alan Jackson told NBC News Thursday. "Just because you're presented with a police report and an analysis doesn't necessarily mean that those are going rise to fileable charges."

Jackson added that unless some aggravating factor is introduced to the case, he doesn't expect any charge will be filed against Jenner.

Howe's stepchildren have already filed a lawsuit against Jenner in the crash, NBC News reported.

Jenner, formerly known as Bruce before becoming transgender, is a former Olympic gold medalist and reality TV star.

Petition pushes for Jon Stewart as debate moderator
A petition posted two weeks ago pushing to make Jon Stewart a moderator for a 2016 presidential debate is close to reaching its goal.

The Change.org petition, created by Mariel Waters of New Jersey, has already collected over 150,000 signatures and auspicious public attention.

"Over the last 16 years, Jon Stewart has played an influential and iconic role in covering US politics and media," the petition reads. "We believe he should continue that tradition as a moderator at one of the 2016 Presidential Debates."

Presidential hopeful Martin O'Malley is among the petition's supporters; he promoted the page on Twitter Thursday evening, writing "#WeNeedDebate." Other backers include journalist Tim Pool, YouTube star Jon Cozart, journalist Shahram Sharif and Washington Post editor Rebecca Sinderbrand.

CNN reports the petition's popularity has surged by at least 1200 percent since Wednesday.

"Jon Stewart is more than qualified to tackle the moderating job," continues. "Mr. Stewart has interviewed 15 heads of state, 22 members of the United States Cabinet, 32 members of the United States Senate, 7 members of the United States House of Representatives, and scores of other political leaders from this country and around the world while establishing himself as the most trusted person in (satirical) news."

This isn't the first popular petition for a debate moderator. In 2012, a group of high school students launched a Change.org petition for a female debate moderator and won. As a direct response to said campaign, CNN's Candy Crowley moderated the second presidential debate on Oct. 16 of that year.

Adrianne Palicki to star on 'Marvel's Most Wanted'
Adrianne Palicki will star on new ABC series Marvel's Most Wanted.

The 32-year-old actress and actor Nick Blood will portray Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, and Lance Hunter, respectively, in the upcoming pilot. The pair currently play the characters on the ABC show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will return for a third season Sept. 29.

Palicki and Blood were previously linked to an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff, but Marvel's Most Wanted will reportedly give a fresh take on the duo. S.H.I.E.L.D. producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski co-created the project and will serve as showrunners and executive producers.

Marvel and ABC also have a new series in the works with 12 Years a Slave writer and American Crime executive producer John Ridley. Details are being kept under wraps, but the show will reportedly reinvent an existing superhero character.

Carrie Underwood announces new album 'Storyteller'
Singer Carrie Underwood released a new single, "Smoke Break," Thursday, announcing on Facebook it will appear on a new studio album entitled Storyteller.

Accompanying the news was the cover art for the single, featuring the 32-year-old country singer hanging back with a black corset and a drink.

Country radio stations around the world have already received the single, which Underwood refers to as "an anthem for every hard-working person."

"We were writing and kept taking breaks to go outside because we were getting a little stuck on a song we were already on," Underwood answered on a Facebook Q&A. "It was so beautiful outside that we had a hard time focusing, so we decided to write a song about taking breaks! 'Smoke Break' seemed like a great title, so we ran with it!"

When asked about her upcoming fifth studio album, Underwood remarked about her writing process and how the title relates to her style.

"I feel like a lot of the songs that I wrote and gravitated to ended up being more traditional and 'twangy' than anything I have ever done before," she added about Storyteller. "I just went with it! I love the story telling aspect of country music...it's one of the reasons I always wanted to be a part of it."

Storyteller is set to be released on Oct. 23 while "Smoke Break" is available on iTunes now.

Which singer-turned-designer will launch an activewear line in the fall?

Women's Wear Daily reports the Jessica Simpson will debut The Warm Up collection in Macy's stores in October. The "authentic workout apparel" line includes leggings, sports bras and track jackets that range from $24 to $49.

"Whatever was going on in Jessica's life at the time, we said we should be there," the designer's mom and creative partner, Tina Simpson, said. "We had been looking at active for a bit, trying to find the right partner. Jessica works out every day."

The news comes on the heels of the 10th anniversary of the Jessica Simpson brand. The designer was partnered with the Camuto Group for the past decade, and is now working with the Sequential Brands Group. The company took over Camuto's stake in April.

"I don't believe any dream is too big," Simpson told WWD of the milestone. "There are always more dreams to have and I feel that if you look at life that way, nothing will ever seem like a failure. At least you tried ... I am passionate about my brand. I really believe in it."
