Here's the Scoop...

You, the readers, have brought to my attention a mistake in the last issue of Celebrity Nooz. Apparently, in the column concerning actor Erik Estrada becoming an actual police officer, it was stated that the character of Officer Jon Baker was portrayed by Daryl Williams. Now we all know that Larry Wilcox played Officer Jon Baker on CHiPs. And no offense, but who the heck is Daryl Williams? Whoever he is or was wasn't on CHiPs, I'm sure he ate some at some point, but he wasn't on the show... and he certainly didn't play Officer Jon Baker.

Good catch, Noozers!

Be Well,
Steve

Ashley Graham to Amy Schumer: 'That felt like a double standard."
Model Ashley Graham had some questions for Amy Schumer in the August issue of Cosmopolitan.

Earlier this year, Schumer called out Glamour for featuring her in their plus-size issue, though the actress says she wears between a size six and a size eight.

Graham, who holds the record for being the only plus-size model to grace the covers of Sports Illustrated, noted that she was confused by Schumer's reponse.

"I can see both sides, but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry," Graham said. "You thrive on being a big girl, but when you're grouped in with us, you're not happy about it? That, to me, felt like a double standard."

Schumer tweeted a clarification.

"I totally understand Ashley's feelings," she said. "I don't group myself in with her because she is unbelievably beautiful. Nothing but respect for her."

Graham also spoke about her decision to refer to herself as "model" and not "plus-size model."

"Just because I'm not calling myself plus-size doesn't mean I'm not representing a woman who is," she said. "I'm giving curvy women a seat at a table that we've never been invited to before."

Graham's interview is featured in the August issue of Cosmopolitan, on newsstands July 12.

John Cho confirms Sulu is gay and married in 'Star Trek Beyond'
Actor John Cho confirmed that this character Hikaru Sulu in Star Trek Beyond will be depicted as an openly gay father in a same-sex relationship.

Cho told Australia's Herald Sun director Justin Lin and writer Simon Pegg decided to make the character gay as a nod to openly gay actor George Takei who portrayed Sulu in the 1960s television series.

"I liked the approach, which was not to make a big thing out it, which is where I hope we are going as a species, to not politicize one's personal orientations," Cho said.

USA Today confirmed Cho's quote with his publicist, but reported that Paramount would neither confirm nor deny the decision.

Takei spoke about his experience working on the show during the '60s in an interview with News Corp from 2015.

"If I wanted to work as an actor I had to keep it a secret. Back then I couldn't marry a white person - that was against the law here, miscegenation," he said. "But now I am married to a white dude, so we have changed."

LOOSE LIPS:
"I like to think [Otis is] already a little feminist. And he is. He's a really good guy. I want to promote the idea that the definition of feminism is equality and it's something that's not difficult to teach children because they are born with that sensibility."
