Here's the Scoop...

During a CNN interview to promote her new book, Joan Rivers walked out. No, not because the hot studio lights were melting her face off, she left due to the types of questions being asked and was accused of being "mean". Sounds to me like CNN was the one who was mean.

Now enjoy the rest of today's Celebrity Nooz!

*-- Paul McCartney returns to the stage after illness, helps couple get engaged --*

ALBANY, N.Y. (UPI) - Paul McCartney helped two fans get engaged upon his return to the stage this weekend. The 72-year-old musician played in Albany, N.Y., on Saturday, his first concert since his lengthy illness and hospitalization. McCartney noticed two fans in the audience during the performance -- one with a sign that said, "He won't marry me 'til he meets you, and another with, "I've got the ring and I'm 64" -- and brought the couple forward during his second encore. John Dann and girlfriend Claudia came on stage, where Dann proceeded to sing the refrain of "When I'm Sixty-Four," which McCartney wrote for The Beatles. The musician and his band joined in briefly before Dann popped the question to audience applause. McCartney continues his Out There tour Monday in Pittsburgh, Pa. He has rescheduled his canceled June U.S. tour dates for October.

*-- Jessica Simpson weds longtime fiance --*

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (UPI) - After years of delays, Jessica Simpson got married Saturday to former NFL player Eric Johnson at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif., the couple announced. "We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment," the couple told People magazine. "To say 'I do' in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives." Simpson, 33, wore a Carolina Herrera gown at the ceremony before 250 guests. Simpson's sister, Ashlee Simpson was there with fiancé Evan Ross, along with Jessica Alba, Cash Warren, CaCee Cobb and Donald Faison. The couple's 1-year-old son, Ace, was ring bearer, and their 2-year-old daughter, Maxwell, was the flower girl. Simpson and Johnson began dating four years ago and were engaged shortly after.

*-- Joan Rivers walks out on CNN interview --*

LOS ANGELES (UPI) - Joan Rivers, who's promoting her new book, Diary of a Mad Diva, quit midway through an interview with CNN's Fredricka Whitfield on Saturday. Rivers, who dishes out her own cutting commentary on E!'s Fashion Police, was apparently unhappy with Whitfield's line of questioning. The interview went south when Whitfield characterized Rivers' Fashion Police jokes as "mean." "It's not mean, it's not mean, it's not mean. I tell the truth," Rivers said. "I'm sure I say the same things that all the viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch." "You know this whole interview is becoming a defensive interview," she added. "Are you wearing leather shoes? Shut up." Rivers later refuted claims that her outburst was a stunt to drum up publicity for her book. "The CNN interviewer was a news reporter and not an entertainment reporter," Rivers told TheWrap in a statement. "She did not seem to understand we were talking about a comedy book and not the transcripts from the Nuremburg Trial. Every question was an accusatory one designed to put me on the defensive."

*-- Pink Floyd's first album in 20 years to be released this fall --*

LONDON (UPI) - Pink Floyd will release new album The Endless River this fall. The record will be the English rock band's first release since The Division Bell in 1994. Polly Samson, wife to singer and guitarist David Gilmour, announced the news on Twitter over the weekend. "Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called 'The Endless River,'" she wrote. "Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swansong and very beautiful." Wright was a multi-instrumentalist and founding member of Pink Floyd. He left the group in 1979, but later returned until his death in 2008. The band today consists only of drummer Nick Mason and singer and guitarist David Gilmour; late singer and guitarist Syd Barrett was let go in 1968, and singer and bassist Roger Waters left in 1985. The Endless River will consist entirely of unreleased songs, and is due sometime in October.
